the maid of tarth and her idiot
I wish We could have seen Baela with a different hairstyle and looking more like a princess + both she and Jace wearing nicer clothes 😭
sorry theres something inherently tragic about the riverlands like. theyre the central kingdom, theyve three major rivers which bring the people food and feeds their crops and helps their trade, they've got the Isle of Faces and Ravenhall and Riverrun and they connect all other kingsdoms, but no matter what decade u look at, theyre always ravaged. the ever going conflicts between the Blackwoods and the Brackens, Harrenhal being built on the bodies of thousands of peasants by one invader only to then be drowned in fire by another, then an uprising marched through them and only ended when two dragons fought high above them all, and just when peace was there, the dance happened and they burned again and again, and when Robert's Rebellion happened and their liege lord wed his daughters to the rebels and the last key battle happened at the Trident, they knew peace for a time, before it was promptly ripped away from them again by the Lannisters and then the War of Five Kings and the Northern rebellion and the raiding and the Red Wedding. even still with the war technically over, the Brotherhood Without Banners is fighting for them and their liege's daughter is now haunting their assailants and there are people who sought to protect them like Edmure Tully or help them like Septon Meribald and its all so
House of the Dragon season3? No, because I still haven't emotionally recovered from this. AT ALL. 😭💔
“Millions died, but no loss was as lamentable as that of Jacaerys Velaryon.” — Fire & Blood
This single quote from the book has been looping in my mind non-stop. Jace deserved absolutely everything. He was carrying the entire weight of Team Black on his shoulders, trying so hard to be the perfect heir, and watching his story unfold just completely devastated me.
George R.R. Martin really wrote the most heartbreaking tragedy and the show just multiplied the pain. I’m going to be in denial about this for a very long time. 🕯️🐉

The Lost Princess
Daemon Targaryen x Reader
My first fic ever!! Long story short reader is of Valyrian descent (I have no idea what house bear with me). So I have like MINIMAL knowledge of literally any game of thrones lore but I’m bored so here we are. I most likely will be mischaracterizing several people (probably Daemon). This happens before the events of house of dragon (also I’ll be ignoring Daemon and Rhanerya’s romance for the sake of this fic (and probably Lena too)
Warnings: mentions of sex work, very much adult content (it’s got universe what do you expect), violence, misogyny
Part One
The caves of Dragon Stone were vast. No one truly knew what mystery could be awaiting discovery. Daemon had always craved more knowledge of his ancestry. How had Aegon truly amassed enough power to conquer Westeros? What was Valyria like before the doom? What is it like now? Could there have really been a time with so many dragons roaming the skies? Now House Targaryen was at the height of its power. Daemon’s older brother, Viseryis, was crowned king. Daemon wondered the caves, searching for what he did not know. But never did he expect to find you.
The only light he had was a diminishing torch in his left hand. The dragon’s were all sleeping, their keepers too. Dragon Stone lied quiet, except for the footsteps of the rouge prince. Daemon hit a dead end. As he was about to turn around, he noticed the wall before him was not as it seems. A boulder had been concealing another part of the cave. He set down the torch and tried to push it aside. It wouldn’t budge, but Daemon is a stubborn man. If he wants to move the wall he will. And he did. He was able to gain enough strength to push the stone enough to climb through. Instead he found a chamber. Vines with blossoming pink flowers climbed the walls. Chests full of fine silks and sparkling gemstone jewelry sat up against the walls. The flowers hung down on the vines from the ceiling as well. Encasing the stone room in a meadow. Crystals of sunlight are embedded in the ceiling, creating a light source. And finally, laying still on a small wooden bed was you. A woman covered in dust with flowers in her hair, dressed in torn leather armor.
“Seven hells,” Daemon says, shocked. “What are you.” He walks to your bedside, you look perfectly healthy, chest rising with breath. “Can you hear me?” He asks.
At those words your eyes shoot open. Gasping, you sit up and grab his arm. “Valyria has fallen!” Then you fall into sleep once more.
He catches you, “Are you alright!” You simply lie limp in his arms. Not knowing what else to do, Daemon lifts you in his arms. He cradles you like a bride whilst still balancing the torch and returns through the caves.
“Maester!” Daemon yells through the empty halls of Dragonstone, carrying you unconscious. “Maester!” Daemon gently places you on the painted table, a maid appears at last.
“What is it my grace?” She asks.
“Find me a maester! Now!” She nods and hurries off.
The five minutes that follow feel eternal. Just you and Daemon in Dragonstone’s main hall. Daemon doesn’t know why he’s so worried about you. You’re a nameless girl he found in a cave. Who could potentially know about the Doom of Valyria. Even more so, there is simply something precious about you. Finally, two maesters and the maid from before return. “What is it my prince?” Asks one of the men.
“Help her. She’s not dead, she’s unconscious.”
“Who is she?” He asks.
“I haven’t the slightest clue,” Daemon replies.
“She’s wearing Valyrian amor,” says the other maester.
“Yes, she is.”
“She briefly awoke when I found her.”
“May I ask where it is you found her?”
“The dragons caves.” One of the maester’s eyes go wide.
“Get me moon burn leaf.” The maid nods and hurries off again. “Quickly!” He shouts after her.
“What is it, what do you know?” Daemon asks.
“Tomorrow,” he hesitates. “She sees the Grand Maester.”
“I demand you tell me what you know,” Daemon says sternly.
The man sighs and looks to the other Maester, signaling for him to leave. He does and then the maester says, “My Prince, I believe you have awoken the lost princess of dragons.”
Daemon pauses then says, “what does that mean. There’s no such thing in our histories,” he scoffs.
“Not the histories you were taught my Prince. Her story is a very old one. It has been kept a secret amongst Targaryen heirs and their maesters for centuries. It is said the secrets of Valyria lie in the princess buried amongst dragons.”
“She spoke when I woke her earlier,” Daemon shares.
“What did she say?”
Daemon grimly replies, “Valyria has fallen.”
The maid returns with the leaf. The maester carefully crushes it and sprinkles the powder beneath your nose.
Like a bolt of lightening you awake and say, “Daemon.”
This is so short but trust there is more coming. If you wanna be on the taglist pls comment. Hope you enjoyed!!
