Jesse “Tex” Everett King

Tex gets to New Vegas from Texas when he’s around 22, he’s in and out of the city until the October after he turns 25, when Benny shoots him for the Platinum Chip

In modern settings he has a hairless cat named Bastard, who hates him, and a husky named Ranger

Tex can’t sing to save his life, but he can play guitar and harmonica. Other hobbies of his include whittling and roping, including lasso tricks.

He can’t grow an actual beard but no one can talk him into shaving

He’s an absolute bastard child don’t let the pretty face fool you he will absolutely try to charm you out of your last cap

He and Swank have an on and off fling that almost turns serious before Tex disappears and is shot by Benny. The three of them were more or less buddies before the fact, leading to Tex not really trusting Swank as much once he figures out what they used to be.

Everett King, Jesse’s father, was kicked off the family ranch by his mother Abigale only a few months after his youngest sister, Parker, was born. Everett was a chronic drunk and would end up being verbally abusive to Abigale and he is the reason why Tex doesn’t drink much, if at all.

Tex’s Perception used to be much higher. Post-headshot, it dropped about 4 points and he’s not so great at aiming anymore given his out of wack depth perception. Where he used to favor his six shooter in combat, he now prefers close combat with his shotgun and knife (or any blunt object he can get a hand on).

The nickname “Tex” didn’t come until after he got shot despite being originally from Texas. The first song he hears after waking up is “Big Iron” and he picked up on “Texas Red” specifically. He didn’t know why at the time, but calling himself “Tex” just seemed right. He doesn’t find out his actual name until he manages to enter the Strip and talk to Swank for the first time.

A number of things happened to him after getting shot by Benny. He’s mostly blind in his left eye (he can make out blurry, dark shapes with his right eye closed, so he’s effectively blind in that eye. his perception was Much higher before that; around 10). He had anxiety beforehand, but it turns into full blown panic disorder after (it’s a problem usually when he’s alone or in a high stress situation. He fixed up ED-E and hasn’t travelled without some sort of companion since. he picked up smoking to help with his nerves). He’s also prone to migraines and vertigo, not to mention tinnitus that comes and goes in his left ear. His more severe panic attacks tend to happen when he’s on his own in an unfamiliar setting, which makes DLCs like Dead Money or Old World Blues pretty rough.

His usual companions are Veronica, Cass or Arcade along with ED-E

Tex’s canon ending is the No Gods, No Masters route. Eventually, he settles down and becomes a lead bartender at a refurbished Gomorrah. He almost became a co-owner, but decided against the responsibility, instead he continues to do a little courier work here and there.

Main Love Interests

Swank (this was mostly an off and on thing before Tex got shot. Swank caught feelings but Tex didn’t, then Benny shot Tex and Tex lost a lot of trust towards anyone at the Tops.)

Milo ((pictured above) Hot-headed and adventurous Milo. They are an off and on thing both before and after getting shot, though less so after Tex is shot, and they met when assigned to a courier job together. There was potential for some form of closer relationship, but the two have an issue of grating at each other’s nerves and end up fighting constantly towards the end of their “on” phases. Tex doesn’t find out about Winona (pictured above) until she’s about 3 years old; Milo leaves her in the care of his older brother and sister-in-law in Freeside whenever he’s busy with his own courier work on the west coast. Milo eventually ends things with Tex permanently after he finds a fella on a job in Reno, though he continues to play an active role in Winona’s life and remains mostly amicable with Tex post-canon.)

Jace Black (( @courier-sux​‘s beloved baby angel) Tex and Jace meet just a few months after Tex arrives in New Vegas in 2278 outside of Camp McCarran while Jace was on duty. Initially unimpressed by this new baby-faced stranger hitting on him, Jace brushed it off at first, though eventually came around to the idea of humoring him after Tex kept coming around. Jace, however, returns home to California after his contract with the NCR expires in 2279. The two say their goodbyes and don’t meet again until the events of 2281 transpire, leaving Tex with very little to no memory of Jace besides frustrating flashes of gentle touches and a soft but weary laugh. The two travel together off and on throughout the events of New Vegas and feelings rekindle, especially after Tex regains a sizable chunk of memories after Old War Blues. Though it’s a rocky relationship sometimes given Tex’s fear of commitment, and nearly caves in on itself when Tex disappears without a goodbye after the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, the pair manage to work things out in the end with an extensive apology from Tex and a promise to try to be better. In most cases, they are the canon relationship for Tex and the one that lasts past the ending of New Vegas.)

Male, 37 years old. From the area of prewar Amarillo, Texas where his family runs a small farm. Part of a small group of mercenaries- The Fallen Horses- in the Boston area around ten years before the sole survivor leaves Vault 111. High charisma, high perception face; uses his skills with communication to negotiate payments and job offers. Main weapon; compound bow. Cousin to Tex.

An outlaw from the Arizona area, roughly 100 years after the bombs drop. Mute since a very young age. The Chosen One’s mother.

Rosemary Rosario

Female, 28 years old. From the New Vegas area, grew up with one of her adoptive fathers in California before returning to New Vegas and taking on the platinum chip job. Full memory loss from the gunshot wound left by Benny, major depression and alcoholism. High perception; taught to snipe by her adoptive father, Anthony Rosario. Kind, perhaps a little bit of a pushover. NCR ending. She travels mainly with her rottweiler, Boone, then “Ash”.

Jesse “Tex” Everett King

Male, 25 years old. From the area of prewar Fort Worth, Texas. A cowboy through and through; his mother runs a large brahmin/longhorn ranch in the Fort Worth area with his three sisters. Does courier work for the areas between Texas and New Vegas, spends most of his time in New Vegas at the Tops before accepting the platinum chip job. Major memory loss, anxiety and near blind in his left eye from the bullet to the head. Only starts to regain memories post-OWB. High charisma, high endurance; a tank with a charming personality. His main weapon is a pump shotgun. Direct descendant of Sandra King.

Romulus “Ash” & Remus

Male, 24 years old. Son of a high ranking Legion officer along with his younger twin brother, Remus. Their father’s bias towards Romulus showed from a young age, creating a rift between the two brothers early. Romulus befriends a prisoner and eventually starts to realize how horrible the Legion really is. He breaks ranks and runs off, picking up the name “Ash” from a prewar, bullet hole riddled sign for Ash Fork on his way west. He is followed west by Remus, intent on proving his worth and ability to take over their father’s position. Romulus falls in with Rosemary after she patches him up. The brothers face off at the Second Battle for Hoover Dam and only one survives. Romulus is high strength, high perception, and his main weapon in a compound bow. Remus is high strength, high endurance, and his main weapons are throwing knives and dual blades.

Fallout 4

Anthony Mateo Rosario

Male, 32 years old. Prewar Olympic sprinter and gymnast. He was put into Vault 121 along with several other athletes and personal trainers, where they would undergo one of many of Vault-tec’s questionable vault experiments. Nanites were injected into the bloodstream in weekly “boosters” under the guise of building up their immune systems to be able to leave the Vault. Several participants died, along with the original Vault staff, who were not given the injections. Anthony travels after leaving the Vault with another prewar athlete, settling in New Vegas for a while and raising Rosemary, before the two go separate ways. Anthony travels back home to Boston where he joins up with the Railroad. High perception, high agility. His main weapon is a sniper rifle, while his secondary ends up being the Deliverer.

Seth Seymour

Male, 27 years old. Prewar marine. Seth is on leave with his family in Sanctuary Hills when the bombs drop, leading to him becoming the Sole Survivor of Vault 111. Though he sides with the Brotherhood of Steel out of familiarity- military structure- he eventually leaves upon finding out Danse is a synth. The two take up residence in Sanctuary Hills with the Minutemen. High strength; main weapon is an assault rifle. He and Anthony knew one another prewar- Anthony had been engaged to Seth’s sister- and the two constantly butt heads.

Joan Duval

Female, 30 years old. General of the Minutemen. After Seth helps the Minutemen back to Sanctuary Hills, he leaves them to their own devices. Joan, who was part of the Minutemen before their fall in Concord, hears of them setting up shop in this prewar community and rejoins their efforts, eventually working her way up to General. Sympathizes with the Railroad; happily shelters synths escaping from the Institute and Railroad agents. High charisma, high strength. Though she prefers talking through things, her main weapon is a combat shotgun.

Fallout 76

Sandra “Sandy” King

Female, 24 years old. Born inside Vault 76 a year after the door is shut and the bombs drop. Spends an extensive amount of time alone once the doors reopen until people start returning to Appalachia. High endurance, high luck, low charisma. Her main weapon is a modded shotgun and she’s almost always covered in dried blood. Definitely the most feral of all the ocs. Directly related to Tex.
