okay. this was weird. getting a physical body for the first time, even as a doll, took some getting used to. he was surprised that max decoy doll was actually fairly durable and he had managed to use it to get the boat across the lake while the campers were off doing who knows what. of course, setting foot on those docks again sent a strange chill through jasper. he shouldn’t be here. but maybe he could find someone that could help.

jasper didn’t know how to go about this, he had attempted to sneak around the camp, tried to stay out of sight while he could form some kind of plan, but any thoughts died when he turned a corner at the mess hall and ran into one of the counselors. well, at least she was alone.

“sorry!” the doll fell back and looked up at her, briefly panicking and wondering if it was too late to pretend he wasn’t a possessed little thing that just spoke.

     “I ain’t drawn a sigil in ten years, kid.” His arms crossed and he heaved, leaning back on onto the wall hoping his tantrum of refusal would spark some sort of action in the woman beside him. Nevermind the grizzly form that he took, the pouting was evident no matter how skeletal. It was rare he ran into a situation he couldn’t crash his way out of and if there was anything that could put the Rider in a bad mood it was the necessity of subtlety in his work. “...-   It’s because I was CRAPPY at it if you need more backstory.      “i’m going over this, and i’m not seeing any hints as to where to find this guy.” the ‘wolf had been perusing the same pile of paperwork, photographs, and scribbled notes for the past several hours, running on three day old coffee and the gentle plead still ringing in his mind, but there had been no connection, no hint jumping off the page, no trail to follow the scent of. either he had missed something, or this was the end of the trail.

     a counselor? at this hour? jasper couldn’t help but to be confused-- what was with everyone coming at odd hours? what were they looking for at this place? jasper shook his head and decided at this point it wasn’t worth it and continued to play with his pog collection on the front porch. the lack of wind and damp air this night made it nice to play outside for once. he just wished he had someone to play with. . .
