December 8th 2020 in Portland Oregon a black and indigenous family was evicted from their home after owning it for 65 years. There have been protests since september against this family's eviction as there was a moratorium (temporary suspension) because of covid19 but the courts pushed forward with the eviction anyways. When they were evicted protests errupted and demonstrators took over the house which is now called "red house" the historically black neighborhood and community of Albina are using red house as headquarters for RHED (Red House Eviction Defense) previously known as RHAZ (red house autonomous zone) there have been clashes with police and as with CHOP lots of misinformation by media.
