If mermaids are ‘female’ merpeople, and mermen are ‘male’ merpeople, then I propose mermos (pronounced mer-mowz) be gender neutral mer people :D

You know what? I think that not all sea beasts can call each other siblings due to the fact that many often have a very large age difference. And since they are all essentially relatives and children of the Ocean, it is more often convenient for them to sometimes call each other uncles, aunts, miss, sir and ect.
