1. I've been loving reading everyone's tags on mukenaizen's Bleach roadtrip spin the wheel game. So many different combinations!
2. Yesterday, I finished that work document I had to mention multiple times during that "bolster ask culture" meme. I'm already like "oh... I need to start planning now for the much worse version of that document that will be due two years from now," but FOR THE NONCE. ONLY REGULAR DEADLINES
3. Per my "good grief, I haven't seen any of these things" tags on the AO3 popular ship post, I have now seen A Movie. Utterly unhelpful in the AO3 ship sense, but I'm now kind of obsessed with it. It was Fremont (2023), which is an indie film about an Afghan refugee working in a fortune cookie factory. It's so strange and understatedly funny, and it's a refreshing reminder to me that there are forms of filmic narrative (and acting philosophy) that aren't that "aspiring to a shinier, polished version of reality" kind. The soundscape--both score and diegetic sounds--is fascinating, too, especially if you are someone who really likes the sounds that different trains make (in this case, BART and Amtrak).
4. On Sunday my co-blogger and I spent almost three hours walking around the grocery store, and I came back with the storied Bleach beverages:
I drank the Ichigo one, which was kind of awful, ngl. I don't like soda to begin with, but it tasted like the way "tropical breeze" or piña colada bath products smell. ICHIGO WHY
I feel like I can't drink the Hitsugaya one until I write the AU where he's enlisted into the 11th Division.
It's also VERY funny to me that Byakuya has 10 grams more added sugar than either Ichigo or Hitsugaya. "it's because grapes are less sweet than peaches" NO
it's because bankai is stored in the carbohydrate chains and Byakuya was like "I demand ten additional grams."
Also, for the record, this?
Absolutely true. But I figured might as well find it now while I can just search B3 for "hitsugaya" and have it come up reasonably quickly chronologically. And now the link is findable here, too!
