champion confessionals / wallace and steven

This was it. Steven was finally going to tell him just how he feels about his friend. For a while he had been over thinking his conversation with Wallace, about his supposed friend who was interested in him, and it was slowly driving Steven slowly insane. Given that it was now nearing three in the morning and just the thought of confessing his true feelings had kept him up all night with anxiety. Sitting up in his bed, he thought about what he could do, which lead to only one solution. He would have to go to Ever Grande and tell Wallace.

Quickly he pushed the covered off of him, and ran to grab the pokeball that his Skarmory was resting inside of. He grabbed his keys, and headed out of his Mossdeep home, not caring that he was still in his pyjamas. Releasing his Skarmory, he smiled and stroked its metallic wings for a moment.

“I know it’s late, but I need you to take me to Ever Grande, I need to... I need to deal with an important matter and it cannot wait.” He gently sat on its back, and waited for it to take off and take him to Wallace. Steven couldn’t help but concentrate on the anxious feelings in his stomach.

By the time he touched foot in Ever Grande, his nerves hadn’t got any better. Slowly, he began to tap at Wallace’s door, hoping that he wouldn’t be too angry to be awoken in the middle of the night. 

With each passing second that passed, he could feel him self shaking more and more, and was considering turning around and avoiding the situation. However he couldn’t bring himself to move. He had to tell Wallace how he felt.

The second he heard the lock on the door turn, Steven couldn’t stop his mouth from running a mile.

“I told them what you said, and well... they’re here. I’m here. Wallace... I...” He couldn’t stop himself from shaking. Everything was going terribly.

Hold You Close // Steven and Wallace

"Alright. Strip. Now. We’re taking a bath.”

Out of context, he knew such a statement could be taken quite inappropriately, given his habit of flirting with his husband in not so suited scenarios. The words themselves were absent of clarification, but given Wallace’s current state of appearance... Well, his intentions were innocent enough.

It wasn’t unusual for Steven to return home from work before his husband; being champion was a lot more tedious and tiring than being a battle supervisor. On most days, should Wallace return home horrendously late, Steven prided himself in ensuring that his husband entered the house to the scent of freshly prepared food. His culinary artistry more than made up for his inconsistent attention and lack of concern for his own wellbeing. Sort of. It depended on Wallace’s mood. 

Regardless, on this particular night, Steven had prepared dinner, as per usual, yet the food had quickly been cleared away and placed in the fridge when it became apparent that the champion would not be home in time to dine. Steven did his best to straighten up, knowing how much Wallace loathed his messy lifestyle, and when he finally deemed the kitchen clean enough, settled on the couch with a book. 

The clocked ticked away, and Steven became immersed in the wonderful world of science. By the time he finished reading, it was nearing one AM, and with a grimace, he noted that the weather had turned quite foul. Rain pounded against the windows, and in the distance, he could hear the occasional drum of thunder fire through the atmosphere. Hopefully Wallace wouldn’t be caught in the storm... It was a frightening thought, and Steven stood, ready to grab his phone and ensure his husband’s safety. 

However, his anxiety dissipated before he’d found the small device, as the door tumbled open, and Wallace, soaked absolutely to the bone, stumbled inside.

Frantically, Steven rushed towards him, shutting the door before anymore water could enter their home. “Walls? Arceus... You’re soaked.” He grabbed the champion’s coat and pulled it hesitantly off, hanging it on the coat hook near the door. "Alright. Strip. Now. We’re taking a bath.” And it wasn’t that he was filthy... If anything, Steven needed a good cleansing more than Wallace did. Mostly, it was that Steven feared Wallace’s health could decline if he didn’t warm himself quickly(an irrational worry), and felt it necessary to act.

“Do you need help walking? Do you want me to carry you? I can make tea if you want it...” He was rambling off potentially helpful things at this point, and likely his husband would be perfectly fine, but he couldn’t keep himself from worrying. “...Walls...?”
