Gluttony and envy?

Gluttony: a headcanon about food or obsessions
Negan loves home cooked meals. Thereâs something personal and even intimate about cooking for someone or being cooked for that he really likes. Lucille admittedly did a lot of the cooking when they were together but heâd often make her breakfast on weekends, and itâs something he did a lot more when she became weak and fatigued from the cancer, eventually cooking most of the meals or helping out when she insisted she do it herself. With all the stress and strain in their life and marriage at that point, those moments meant a lot.
We still see this after the outbreak, such as when he makes Carl spaghetti (sure he was tormenting the household, but he was attempting to bond with the kid by having him help out), and when he makes Sasha pancakes before asking her to work with him. He sees it as something that can bond people, a way to be personal and appear more friendly in hopes they warm up to him. Itâs a way to show that he cares or likes them, in one way or another.
Envy: a headcanon about your characterâs secret desires and jealousies
I donât know if it can still be considered a secret at this point, but Negan desires to be liked. Sure, he gets a little drunk on power from leading the Saviors and mightâve enjoyed striking fear into others a little too much sometimes. He did what he had to and learned to get a kick out of it.Â
But Negan, at his core, wants to be liked. He likes attention (preferably positive attention but as weâve seen, he takes what he can get), he wants friends, and certainly wouldnât say no to being admired or looked up to. Iâm not sure it quite reaches the point of jealousy or envy, but thereâs certainly times after the war when he sees how supportive the people of Alexandria and other communities are of each other, how they care about each other, consider one another friends if not family, and yeahâ he feels a bit left out. He understands why (frustrating as it is, after heâs been trying so damn hard to earn their trust and change their minds about him), but it doesnât stop him from wishing he could have that too. No matter how deserved, feeling like youâre not worth anything to anyone and that no one cares about you, doesnât leave a person feeling great.
