THEY HAD A BABY GUYS THEY HAD A BABY
Making new ocs in a game that I’ll probably never make but I’ll give yall the jest of them
Hans: a scientist who accidentally spilt his lab partner into two different people, main goal is to somehow stitch the lab partner back together and fix this mess. His gameplay is at the beginning of the game and he’s basically trying to watch over and keep the two people to not escape.
Ringo: the lab partner (name before being spilt) never seen on screen (unless it’s a flashback) and doesn’t have any gameplay. Basically haunts the narrative.
(You play as both Rue and Rot)
Rue: the first half of Ringo. Doesn’t remember being Ringo at all, feels trapped in the lab. Main goal is to escape the lab and find freedom can achieve this by pleasing Hans and looking for keys and stuff.
Rot: Second half, remembers few things. Main goal is to look through past records and notebooks to learn both of Ringo and Hans past and what they were trying to accomplish. Does this by distracting Hans.
Main theme of this game is the past and future. Rot represents the past, Rue represents the future. Hans represents refusing to let go of the past and moving on to the future.
So yeah tell me if you wanna know more
There is no community art game and don't say art fight. I'll never participate in art fight specifically for the spirit of it all. Why is it an event instead of a forever game? Why aren't we giving gifts to each other instead? why is drawing someone's oc an attack?? Why can't we simply Share Knowledge and Art in a community space online without censorship????
I have a proposal to transition towards ADULT web community art fest. you draw your character and play with ocs like jpegs(dolls) in a virtual space to share information. a sort of wizard101/club penguin/neopets meets Drawn To Life style vibe for artists willing to share their skill and raise others to new heights and be raised in turn. It would have to be a program capable of wrapping 2d images into 3d shapes intuitively.
Players would join and look at another character and go "HOLYY HOW DO YOU HAVE MOVING EARS" and the person with moving ears would explain they know some basic vtuber puppeting skills and it transferred over and they sit down in a common space and draw out and write out diagrams on how to do this complicated process, then a new player walks into the common space and has clouds following them and they're both like "HOLYYY HOW DO YOU HAVE CLOUDS???" to which the new player explains volumetric 3d modeling to them.
Every player could have their own area that acts as a realm, you design the outside of the realm in a map of other realms, when you enter the realm, the space is infinite in reality. This gives infinite potential for every artist to create anything they want. Maybe you want to grow fruit and vegetables in your realm? Look at the programming for other gardening games and imitate it for your realm, grow starfruit that is an actual star and create your own character modifiers to go along with it.
Maybe you want your sky and clouds and stars to all be different colors? Maybe you want the wind to have color and form? Maybe you want to look up and see a deep blue ocean rolling like clouds? Maybe you want to hover and shape shift? Maybe you want your house in your realm behind a waterfall in a cave of moss and frogs? Ask for help. Someone out there knows how to make it somehow.
The reason this space needs to be 18+ is because of the amount of censorship that needs to happen in order to make a space "kid friendly" in the eyes of conservatives is in direct contradiction to art itself. Drawing the nude human form is quintessential to understanding how to draw most things. Gore is a motif that many many artists incorporate into their work as an expression of grief, myself included. If the space were catered towards children we would lose the messiness that causes art to be needed by the human spirit in the first place.
The security of the servers would be maintained by community members selected by other community members, not the devs. This would ensure that the people defending the realms would actually be personally motivated to defend it. If a member is terrorizing others or is generally being a pest, they get kicked and left with a detailed response to their actions that explains both how they did wrong and how to grow up. I think it would be magnificent.
It's a lot of work but I think if the right people were to set it up, it would create itself after the base is complete. The devs would need to incorporate a limited command prompt that would allow for community members to program the software to be as user friendly as possible. Basically a guerilla community DIY art video game that's actually an internet 3rd place.
