A little late to the party but I do have some thoughts about Fantasy High Junior Year now that it's over. First of all, overall? Great season, had lots of laughs... but man, is it just me, or were there a lot of parts in this season that just... were kind of annoying? For me specifically, two big things... and no, I'm not talking about the Rat Grinders. While I'm a little disappointed with how that ended, I'm not too bothered.

Like, idk if this is a hot take or not, because they were arguably the biggest parts of this season... but I found myself especially annoyed and/or disappointed about K2 and Porter.

Like, don't get me wrong, I thought K2 was funny—especially at first—and Porter being the main villain of the season was 100% for the bit and I can respect that... but man, I couldn't help but be disappointed with Porter going full irredeemably evil, as well as just straight-up annoyed by K2's existence (at least in regards to the story. gameplaywise, making a homunculus of their cleric was VERY smart) (oh god if K2 exists in our world now she might come after me. dont forget me).

In regards to Porter... he was for sure an ass, he caused Gorgug a lot of grief with the MCAT, but he also had such a really sweet moment with him when that thing finally got signed?? It was very, like, not a perfect teacher but someone who did have his best interests in mind, paired with a really nice message about how it's alright to get mad. It was an important part of Gorgug's character growth this season! Integral to unlocking his Barbificer subclass!

...and then all of that just gets thrown away because turns out Porter was evil the whole time and this was all just leading up to his big master plan of killing a god and becoming a god of war. He was never offering genuine advice, he never cared about Gorgug or had his best interests in mind, he thought Gorgug's fascination with Artificing was stupid... and now he's dead. The End.

And that just feels... really disappointing, honestly. He was a chill guy, and yeah he had no right to bar Gorgug from pursuing what he wants and force him to take so many years of school in a single year, but it also resulted in some serious growth on Gorgug's part! It was great! Him being Evil The Whole Time felt... almost like a character assassination, honestly.

And then... there's K2...

I'm gonna be real here. I don't care if using a homunculus and shit for multiple divine intervention rolls is how it actually works in the rulebooks, and I know that objectively having more rolls is always better, especially when the stakes are high... and especially considering that Ally was not getting the rolls they needed otherwise.

This was hilarious. It was also supremely annoying, because it just fully took away from any big moment Kristen could've had this season regarding her and Cassandra after her creation... and this happened TWICE.

Like, from a storytelling perspective, I feel Brennan's pain viscerally. These episodes were truly such an experience for me, because on one hand, I was laughing at the sheer comedy of it all... but there was another part of my brain thinking this truly, truly sucked.

Kristen was figuring out her devotion to Cassandra, finding an understanding in what her role as Cassandra's cleric is... and right at the end of the season all of that kind of comes to a halt because in the end K2 did the divine interventions.

...Well, at least that still leaves some room for whatever Kristen will have to deal with in Senior year. Unlike Porter, who is dead and gone and we're definitely not bringing him back.

I bought the Mutant Mayhem toys meant for the younger kids and here’s some stuff I noticed. I posted this on my tiktok, but I had more to say and I wanted to share my findings.

From left to right it’s Raph, Leo, Donnie, and Mikey’s pizza slices.

They cheaped out on my boy Mikey. Either Mikey’s slice was just made out of left over plastic to save on resources, or it’s because smallest sibling gets cheaped out.

From the weapon sets, all the boys have an extra weapon that we’ve seen used in 2012 except for Raph. 2012 Mikey had his nunchucks that could turn into kusarigama, while 2012 Donnie’s staff turned into a naginata. Leo used a tantō blade separate from his weapon though. The only one I can’t think of is Raph’s. Everyone’s weapon was specific, but Raph’s is just a feather like Kunai.

Raph and Leo have silver weapon stands, while Mikey and Donnie have (wooden?) orange stands (A-Team B-Team solidarity?)

Donnie’s Fanny pack has this tag in the back with an A on it??? Do with that what you will. The only person with an A in their name is April, but Donnie has this pack way before they meet her so who knows. Or if you tilt it, it could just say D.

Each boy comes with a mutagen canister, but each of them is broken, spilling, and bent except for Donnie’s??? Not sure if that was just an effort to make each toy different, or if it might have some effect on the story.

Maybe each shuriken was different to have the sets be unique, but I like the idea that Splinter taught the boys how to make their own and this is how they came out. It would be a cool look into their identities too.

Leo’s is almost perfect and simple, but his attempt is still a little wonky. Raph’s is straight up wonky and scratched, his impatience maybe. Donnie’s is precise, nearly perfect and stylized too. Mikey’s is bulky and scratched up with attempts at style.

Mikey’s weapon set comes with twin microphones! I think it’s funny considering Mikey wants to be a comedian. I hope he has something like this in the movie. He probably won’t but k think it’d be funny.

I’m dubbing these two the Entertainment Duo, because they both have big stage dreams. 

Also Mikey and Donnie would totally fight over the mic to have the spot light. Maybe with a singing battle. And they force Splinter to watch the whole thing and be a judge.

Hey, can we learn more about your deadly sins characters? For example, what are they supposed to do as sins incarnate? Or do they have good relations with each other? Asking mainly because your characters are pretty neat, it's cool to hear about them 👍

i’ve posted pics of king, but they’re outdated as heck. so are pics of the sins, i need to make them new ones.

in general, their focus is to collect debts for king on the surface (our world) from people who correlate with their sin the most and manage the different “sections” of the underbelly. imagine the underbelly as hell, except it is divided by time periods and severity of crimes.

that’s their surface level goal. their true goal is to harness the power of people’s sins to help king get more power. really, the sins are his creations and are extensions of him.

they have good relations with each other for the most part. for ease of reading, i’m gonna give each sin a little blurb for personality, job, and interactions with others.

gluttony: she is very much the mom of the group. loves to cook and feed them, though she definitely eats a lot more than anyone else. everyone likes her except for when she’s too pushy, but since she’s a sweetheart, they rarely get too annoyed with her. she is one of the top three most powerful sins. besides taking care of the other sins, she tends to personally help king because she is his favorite. so she doesn’t manage any of the sections, but she is like his secretary and she collects on some of the debts from people.

sloth: he sleeps all the time and won’t wake up unless drastic measures are taken. he doesn’t do much work, he only rarely collects debts from people. however, he is extremely powerful and those debts are collected quickly. the only reason he isn’t in the top three is because he just sleeps all the time.

wrath: technically the oldest, he is very traditional and set in his ways. stubborn and he practically worships king. he wears his own suit of armor that’s very similar to kings. leader of the sins, they all respect him but that doesn’t mean they all like him. he collects debts and manages the medieval time period and the “absolutely horrible people” sections of the underbelly. he is one of the top three in terms of power.

pride: he is full of himself and usually annoys the other sins with his ego. tends to be the odd one out of the group, striking it alone most of the time and making “friends” with the souls in the underbelly. he collects debts and manages the modern time period, with a focus on the more horrible crimes. he is also one of the top three most powerful.

envy: very sneaky and snide, though he has a great mask and manages to get along with everyone else. he is the sibling who wants what everyone else has, simply because they have it. he is very close with greed. he collects debts and manages the colonization time period (between the modern and medieval time period basically), with a focus on the lesser crimes.

greed: quiet and reserved, she has some ego and also wants all the space to herself. due to her more quiet nature though, she gets a long with everyone else. she is very close with envy. she collects debts and manages the same time period as envy, but with a focus on the more horrible crimes.

lust: they are loud and rambunctious. the only other sin besides pride who socializes with the souls in the underbelly, though they will always stay close with their family. generally very friendly and flirtatious as well, they’re super charming and uses that to their advantage. they collect debts and manage the same time period as pride, with a focus on the lesser crimes.

most of the sins only go out and interact with the souls in underbelly at the bare minimum because they aren’t human (or even otherworldly) souls. there’s a lot of world building that isn’t in here, but i’m sure you just wanted me to focus on the sins so here you go lol. thanks for asking about my characters!!!!

Isn’t it bizarre how quickly things change and how easily you accept that change. A single day will pass and your entire reflection on a matter will switch. It is almost uncanny- the world becomes a little distorted while your brain adjusts and then the whole scenario appears to you as if it had always been that way. Permanent doesn’t exist really.
