#piratesofthecaribbean #piratesofthecarribeandeadmantellnotales is proof that this film series needs to walk the plank now. I friggin #love #pirates (like obsessively) and i also love all the #disney Pirates of the Caribbean movies before this one, so imagine how excited i was to see this. Oh man was i shocked at what my eyes were shown. Within the first 10mins of this #orlandobloom makes a small cameo and from that moment alone a tone is set for this movie and its not a good one. This movie is so frustrating dumb that i was almost annoyed at it, jokes never ever hit but carry on as if they did constantly. The humour is absolutely terrible and at times borders on slapstick. The acting is also mainly bad and we have so many of the franchises dull and annoying characters making a return that i wonder who this film is aimed at because as a huge fan its clearly not me. #javierbardem is a great actor and his villain starts out so cool and his acting is top notch, however once he randomly tells you his silly backstory all his fear and likability goes out the window. The plot is also piss poor and after the middle the film just becomes a blur of terrible cgi effects and tedious set pieces we've seen already before. Its like a pirates best of but none of it is at all memorable or that exciting. The two new leading young characters are also bland but will no doubt be the stars of the next instalment. There's a cool set piece at the start and some of the locations are nice but not much else so i honestly wouldn't bother. #fastandfurious #furious8 is ok nothing more nothing less. Its better than 6 but its got nothing on the greatness that is 7. Its basically more of the same thing again with an even simpler plot this time (but considering we are on 8 now i guess we should be thankful there even is a plot at all). The good - its shot really well and the crazy action is fun and gorgeous to look at not looking cheap or blatantly cgi'd. The chemistry and piss take banter between #therock #dwaynejohnson and #jasonstatham is fire and highly entertaining. Statham pretty much steals the show in every scene hes in as does #CharlizeTheron and #kurtrussell . Other characters in the franchise are starting to bore me now e.g. #vindiesel and #MichelleRodriguez the chemistry between them just isnt believable anymore and i find their characters are bland and boring to watch. The bad - the movie has pacing issues and at times i found myself looking at my watch (after all we are only here for the action). Its also very basic and theres not much here you havent seen before, i feel this series needs to go in a new direction now if it wants to carry on. That said its still fun in parts and it has a good strange self aware humour to it that i kinda dug. The #movie #life had one huge problem, from the start it had no life of its own. Seriously from the opening shot and the title reveal you would swear this film was linked to the #ridlyscott #alien films. Its identical and not in a good way, theres no omagh paid it just straight up steals everything over the course of the entire movie. Not one idea seems to be its own. It starts off ok, its shot well and its really nice to look at and we also get a nice set up of the characters. Then theres the alien reveal (which at first is kind of cool) witch leads to a very gruesome death. Then sadly thats when all the potentially clever ideas and intelligence just bombs. What we are then left with is a generic team killing off film with nothing you havent seen before. Theres no suspense, no dread and some suspect looking cgi. Feat goes right out the window as we are shown the messy cgi creature so much the dread we had for the thing in the first place plummets instantly. Theres hits of a better film in here but i feel it was messily edited to please the main stream. Oh god and the plot holes are so vast not even space could hide them. I really really tried to love this movie but in the end i left angry and cant even recommend it to #scifi lovers. If there was no one famous in this guarantee it would of gone straight to dvd. #jakie #natalieportman #jfk Is absolutely stunning what a fantastic and depressing character study. Natalie Portman is magnificent and plays the roll perfectly, the emotion really comes across in her performance especially in the shooting scenes. Accompanied by a hard hitting and oh so bleak soundtrack this is a heavy and a very emotionally powerful film. I felt for Jackie I really did, the shock of losing someone you love in such a quick and violent way must really affect mental state. To then have to go on camera as well as be told your going to loose your position/home is a tuff blow on a person and the film really shows how cold/unforgiving going from being a person with everything in power to nothing can really be. As a person however im not sure if i felt sorry for Jackie or if I thought she was a selfish woman that thought she deserved more and I cant wait to watch it again a decipher all its deeper meanings and metaphors. After not really wanting to see this I came out truly blown away and my only nit pick would be the children's acting wasnt to great and took me out the film a tad.
