I know that it's Monday but I didn't get a chance for a #BeerAndVinylSunday due to yesterday's Super Bowl. And there is always time for some vinyl tunes and tasty brews. I was inspired to dig out a PAUL SIMON album tonight due to today's announcement that this tour will be his last. I have seen SIMON perform live a couple of times - and his shows are always phenomenal. I am playing his 1973 solo album THERE GOES RHYMIN' SIMON. This is one of his early solo albums containing his hits KODACHROME and LOVES ME LIKE A ROCK. While I enjoy those tunes, there are other songs on this album that display how versatile he is as a songwriter - and his mastery of tune and lyric. In my opinion, PAUL SIMON is one of the finest American songwriters of the past several decades - and he does not always get the acclaim that he deserves. I have accompanied tonight's tunes with a tasty IPA from GILGAMESH BREWING COMPANY. Their OEDIPUS IPA is a solid Northwest IPA with malty sweetness and a light piney finish.
