This might be a stupid question but is pillars of eternity playable for someone who is very bad at games and strategy? lol

It's not much different than BG3, tbh. BG runs off DnD 5e rules, PoE had it's own system. The big difference is if you play the first one, it's not turn based. Deadfire (which I'd recommend anyway - you don't miss much lore going in blind and it's easier to play imo) has a turn based option.
