Phobia Friday #2: Oenophobia

Sorry I didn’t get to do a phobia last Friday - the internet at the house was getting worked on.

This week’s phobia is Oenephobia: The fear of wine. It is derived from the Greek words “oeno” (meaning wine) and “phobia” (meaning fear) and is also sometimes referred to as “oinophobia” or “enophobia.”

This fear can either be of the wine itself, or the effects that wine has. It is also the term for a social anxiety issue that causes people to fear ordering/drinking wine in public because they feel like they are inexperienced or not knowledgeable enough on what sort of wine to order.
