I think Drista as a character is really slept on, especially in relation to Tommy. Especially especially when Tommy is there and Dream is a bad guy, like there was a shuper hero au I was reading like... 3 weeks ago the one where Dream keepts Tommy trying to kill him in his sleep. Let me sleep (idk something in parentheses) or something. Villain SBI, the whole shebang.
And Drista comes up exactly once when Tommy tells SBI everything he knows about Dream so SBI can kill him and he mentions Dream's 13 year old sister Drista. Then Drista's totally forgotten about as a plot point.
And in ANOTHER fic I read with vigilente Tommy and hero SBI where Tommy's got like a nullification power, Tubbo has a power boosting power and the main plot is about Schlatt making Tubbo's power into a drug and trying to get his hands on Tommy to create a nullifier drug then sell both and profit massively. Drista is mentioned, she's got like, powers that basically make her a god and because of them she basically had to run away or be forced to join the hero commission at like 13. And because of her power (and Tommy's own power) Tommy is her only real friend because everyone is scared shitless of her. And it was so good holy shitttt. It was discontinued sadly but from the 250k words that were there, omgggg it was so good.
And I dunno I just want more of that, I want more Drista, we have Tommy as the scapegoat but what good is a scapegoat when there's no golden child?
Like I'm thinking of adding her as a kinor character to Of Equal Value. (Tommy's pretending to be King Dream's little brother Prince Theseus to trick the Arctic Empire after Prince Wilbur was killed.) To add depth to Dream's deception.
Because Theseus's backstory is that he grew up not knowing he was a prince deep in the forest or something and no one knew of his existence. Which is all bullshit. But what if it wasn't entirely. Somewhere, Dream's real little sister is hidden away. So hidden that no one knows her true name. Her fake name is Drista, Dream's Sister. Because he'll do anything to protect her, include have a random servant pretend to be a prince so that Drista can stay hidden.
Or gods au, demigod/god Tommy and his best friend the goddess Drista. Just something. I want more of them and their dynamic and how Drista could fit in to Tommy and Dream's story, especially like, exile and shit.
