Gou, also known as Oeyo was a wife of Tokugawa Hidetada, the second Tokugawa Shogun. She was the first Midaidokoro (the title given to Shogun’s legal wife) of Tokugawa Shogunate and mother of eight children including Iemitsu, the third shogun and Masako, Empress consort.
