Back again!
If the older project mew members did meet Destiny, how would they react, along with Goh being a parent in general.
Also, what are your personal opinions on project mew and their sudden separation?
The general reaction is of positive surprise! Not of all them learned at the same time, but since Gary lives in Pallet and has a more regular contact with Goh due to being profession colleagues he was the first one to know. Gary met Destiny as a small baby, he met her first than Goh's family did! Goh appreciated his friend being very supportive and giving out words of encouragement and how he expected the little girl to grow well.
Back then I was really intrigued in how such a research event could influence in Goh's character development, given he wasn't quite fond of working as a team. It did help him out to improve social skills. I believe there was even more potential on Project Mew but because of the COVID curfew at the time, altering the entire production schedule and reducing costs, writers had to cut short this story arc. I still don't understand what was the point of capturing the Regis for in the end to leave a cliffhanger of a Regigigas hologram. I'm sure there were other plans for this (the Ultimate Journeys season JP intro also hinted something) but ended cancelled. I also lament that Goh, considering how he had a on-screen status of "Ash's special friend" was the only one of his group of travelling companions and important friends/acquaintances that didn't watch the WCS finals live, as much as I understand the mission was important for Goh and both believed in each other to succeed in their goals. Even the boy seemed to feel, by clenching his hand, that Ash's battle was at its climax.
As for the separation, that seemed fair given that they managed to locate Mew and gather some important data. At the same time they had to find a reason for everyone to split out. I believe that behind the camera, the group has gathered a few more times for other missions.
