theres always a chance im wrong but i dooont thinkkkkk. that image genrators are capable of anything humans arent. partially cuz humans operate image gebrators. but i know people think of the way generators generate stuff "fom nothing" or with "no effort" etc makes it seem like image generators are super different from human creations (generated images ARE human crreations to me but whatever). the latest issue ive seen is invasive photo editing (nude edits, including nude edits of chldren). this existed before ai images. it IS definitely EASIER to make these happen with ai which makes nude edits more common but once again this isnt UNIQUE to ai images. i know it seems pedantic and stuff to specify that but its important to me. cuz whewn stuff like this happns (unethical use of genAI) it keeps getting only connected to the genAI. instead of THE PEOPLE DOING IT?? image generators dont act without human input. i am arguing that an image genrator is just as much at fault as photoshop for nude edits of peoples photos. aka none zero. its all the person who did it. ys the person photoshopping is probably spemding more time and effort. i dont think that matters. i think that a tool for making images (AI, photoshop, drawing software, literally whaever else) doesnt ACTUALLY matter on thebasis of its existence. i think image generators being widely available increases issues liek this but once again again its an issue of the people giving inputs and the people in charge of what the publicly available program allows. the publicly available image generators are on par with a picrew anyways (you get to participate and pick things going into the image you want as long as its within all the limits. people make ai art way different from these types of generators when they DIY it). this post is getting away from me idk how to do a good closing statement. just like thte last time i wnent on an ai rant im drunk right now

Sometimes doing art sucks for me. Sometimes it's draining, sometimes I'm not ready, sometimes I'm beating myself up for not reaching my goals.

I still want it to be *mine.*

I don't want a product that isn't part of my own lived experience.

I've actively daydreamed in the past about being hooked up to a machine and just printing what I see in my head and I *still* don't want to use ai for my art, even on the bad days, because it wouldn't print *me*, it would print a poor approximation of my dreams collaged out of other people's stolen work.

But on the good days, the dream-printer isn't even a temptation anymore. On the good days, it's enough that I strike as close as I can to the dreams, because my dreams and my hands are harmony and the process *sings.*
