"Gillette, get down!" A shout of warning from the often errant Third Lieutenant, and then Nathaniel had sprung over, pushing them both down out of the way just as a stack of cargo broke loose and smashed down right where he would have been standing. Well, whoever secured *that* hadn't done it right, clearly. The Captain was going to have a fit. - Nathaniel
Before he could turn his head to spot the danger Cadogan had barreled into him. Gillette went sprawling across the deck. The force of the connection knocked the hat and wig off his head, both falling neatly beside the smashed crates and barrels.
Gillette scrambled to his feet; his mind trying to understand what had happened. Amber eyes found the ruined cargo and then turned upon Nathaniel. “Um...t-thank you, Nathaniel. I am in your debt. You almost were just promoted to second lieutenant.”
