Elric had not known the deceased king well, in fact he had only met the man once. When he had been travelling through the courts some years ago, he had stayed at the palace to learn from their resident healer when one of the king’s hunting companions had been brought into the infirmary with an arrow in the shoulder. Elric remembered that Beron had barked orders at the healer while Elric assisted, but the king had held his wounded friend’s hand the entire time and he had clearly been desperate to make sure his injuries were treated. Quite a different men to some of the stories Elric had heard whispered around the room.
“All seven courts gathering to remember one man.” He sighed and looked to the person next to him. “Did you know King Beron well?”
It had been a long and exhausting night for Elric. The fire itself was a mystery, but it was not something he had been able to devote much thought to as he was far too focused on the aftermath. Once he’d had his own wounds patched up, the first thing on his mind was to help the Autumn Court healers who were run off their feet caring for the wounded.
He had lost count of the number of injuries he had attended by now, but he still would have kept going if one of the other physician’s hadn’t forced him to take a seat and rest, if only for ten minutes. He had his own wounds to think about, and they would not be healed as easily with him working himself to the bone. But he could try to sit still just for a brief while as he slumped in the chair in the corner of the infirmary, fighting every urge to throw himself back into the fray.
Court Loyalty - He is from the Dawn Court, but wouldn’t consider himself solely loyal to them. He travels all over and treats whoever needs his medical expertise and is not biased against any court

What bad habits do they have? He’s a workaholic. He’ll devote himself so wholeheartedly to caring for his patients that he forgets to look after himself

How do they see themselves? It’s unavoidable in the job he’s chosen for himself, but every patient’s death makes him feel like a failure

When was the last time they cried? He cries whenever he loses a patient, but always holds it together until he’s alone before crying

Is their family big or small? Who does it consist of? Small. Just himself, his father and his sister. He doesn’t really remember his mother, who died in childbirth with his sister
How do they feel about their family? He loves them dearly but often becomes so focused on his work that he forgets to check in on them

What was your character like as a baby? As a child? He was always a good kid and looked after his little sister while their father worked.
Did they grow up rich or poor? He grew up in the middle, with his father bringing home a good salary as a palace guard. Since being made a lord, he now has more wealth than he knows what to do with, so just lets his family spend it as they like
What is their greatest achievement? Learning the healing practices of every court in Prythian
What are their ambitions? To continue learning and become the best healer in the realm
What smells remind them of their childhood? Polished metal - he used to hang around the guard’s quarters all the time waiting for his father to finish his shift and take him home

Do they believe in love at first sight? He doesn’t think about it much, he’s probably open to the idea and sees it for other people but can’t see it happening to him

Have they ever had their heart broken? His heart breaks every time he loses a patient. Even if he did everything in his power, it still breaks him to lose anyone under his care
Elric - Lavender - What is your favourite time of day?
I love the mornings, but I suppose that’s just part of being born in the Dawn Court. They are so spectacular to look at and are filled with all the hope and promise of a new day.
My medical bag. In my years of study, I have collected everything a healer could possibly need, from medicinal herbs to wound dressings, and I’ve even had some tools specially handcrafted to assist my medical practices. I would not be able to do my work effectively without it.
