That time when Jungkook broke the rules.

As quiet as possible, you open the door to the guest room. “Jungkook?” you whisper. 

He looks up from his laptop, still awake despite the late hour. “Can’t sleep?” 

Lightning flashes by the window and you jump, body locking up in fear. Jungkook gives you a concerned look, closing his laptop. Now, you realise that he is in fact, not wearing a shirt. In the faint lighting coming from the window you can just see the divot between his pecs. The lines of the tattoos on his right arm. 

You shake your head, fiddling with the edge of your top. “Can I stay here for a bit?” Storms have always scared you, especially since that one time when the lighting hit your house and all the power cut off when you were all alone. 

Jungkook nods, scooting aside and opening up the covers for you. In the same motion, he pulls his shirt from the floor and pulls it over his head. “You should’ve mentioned sooner that you were scared.” 

“I didn’t want to make you worry,” you mumble as you slip in next to him. 

Things have been...tense between you and Jungkook for the past few days. He’s been staying over with you and your brother, Jin, because they’re putting new floors into his apartment. Before this, it was easy to have a crush on him. Now, it’s just plainly impossible. The two of you have always been close, but you’re aware that Seokjin made it very clear he doesn’t want any of his friends dating his little sister. So Jungkook is extremely careful around you. 

However, your brother isn’t home tonight. What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

Jungkook’s quick to pull you closer, letting you cuddle close to his chest like you’ve done so many times before. There’s not really anything that makes you feel safer than his presence. To be enveloped by him and not have to focus on anything else. 

“Your brother is going to kill me when he hears about this,” Jungkook whispers. When a particularly loud crash falls from the sky you jolt and he pulls you closer, whispering that you’re okay. 

You take a shaky breath, fingers splaying out over his chest. “I won’t let him.”

He nuzzles into your hair. “Can I be blunt with you?” 

“Of course.” You can feel his chest rise and fall.

He takes a very deep breath before he speaks, fingers tightening around your waist. “How much do you think he would hate me if I break one of his rules?” 

If there’s one thing Jin’s been very strict about when Jungkook moved in with you for the short period, it’s the household rules. “Uh, I don’t know. That would depend on which rule I guess?” 

Jungkook runs his fingers through your hair, combing out the knots. You look up at him when no answer follows. The sharp line of his jaw stands out, shifting with the press of his tongue into his cheek. “You know what, I really don’t care.” He looks down at you, tongue running over his bottom lip before he bites it slightly. 

Your heart skips a beat. “W-which rule are we talking about?” 

He cups your cheek in his hand, leaning in and brushing his nose against yours. “This one,” he breathes against your mouth before kissing you firmly.

He thought, for an entire week, that Seungri knew of being ‘off-limits’ and was rebelling to his bigger brother, because he seemed to be set into breaking that rule, and from the very first day, at that.

Off-Limits

I feel like the only reasons Caine would ever be a good husband is:

1. His old programming is like 'make the humans happy' and so despite the virus, with how out of bounds a marriage is between ai and human in the circus, the ai simply decided to look for anything to tell him what to do and decided to use the old ai since the Internet gave him... interesting results last time. (Less likely)

2. He is so obsessed with the concept of being perfect that he'd rather be a perfect husband, faux loving and such, than take the easy route of just pretending like nothing ever happened and treating Pomni the same. (Most likely)

Along with reason 2 though, he'd probably try to extend that perfection to Pomni as his perceived 'extension'. Maybe make her take etiquette classes and whatnot or something to correct any behaviours that, while performing, (or at dinner cough cough) he heavily dislikes. So eventually the only place she can truly be herself is at the Manor. Being privy to such a side of Pomni would likely be seen as 'marriage things' to Caine so he'd likely be delighted, even if annoyed or weirded out with Pomni and her emotions from time to time.

I think this ran away from me a little bit.
