Ok so does anyone remember that one school project I kept teasing about but never finished? Well it’s finally here!

Design process under cut!

Off-Panel is a comic idea that I’ve had for a while that only started to take shape during my fall semester. I originally wanted to jump head first into making a short intro comic, but it needed more time than I could give it. After realizing that I very much jumped the gun, I decided to work on character designs for heroes and villains to flesh out the world. The problem with that was I didn’t have all the time on the world and even though I tried to split up parts and use my time wisely, it was more than I could chew. To be honest, I’m impressed that I could manage to sketch out 6-ish villains in a week and have them not feel like duds. I still didn’t get everything I wanted to done, but I realized that I got too attached to these other characters and was starting to lose the plot. I had thought about picking up the comic again, but due to technical difficulties that would’ve been a painful process and I was starting to lose my drive again. After thinking it over and consulting some classmates, I decided to make a poster for the comic itself. I think I did a good job at showing the main focus of the story while also representing all the characters I had fun designing. I realize now that this has just been me yapping about the design process and I’ve given you nothing story related, but this post has gotten pretty bloated. I think when summer break starts and I get all my other drawing ideas out of my system, I’ll come back give character synopses. Cop out, I know, but I’ll try to give you a doodle compilation summarizing the main story pitch sooner rather than later.
