Little examples:
If a black person tells you "you're being racist" HEY! You're probably being racist!
If a queer person tells you "you're being homophobic" HEY! You're probably being homophobic!
If a disabled person tells you "you're being ableist" HEY! You're probably being ableist!
Sometimes you might think you're not, but minorities get discriminated against very often, so they know to recognise the signs. If they tell you you are, (and maybe even explain in what way you're discriminating) here's how you could proceed!
DO:
apologise
inform yourself
don't do it again :]
DON'T:
insist you're NOT being discriminating
consistently call them 'the queers' 'the blacks' or shit like that
keep on being discriminating
blame your religion.
If a religion is telling you to hate/discriminate against someone, then I'm sorry, but I don't think it's a very good religion :]
