it’s an EXHAUSTION of a biblical sense.

long hours at the desk. the constant tick of the clock. the ever LOOMING sense of something missing. the taste of glory is so far GONE from bob’s tongue; replaced with the acrid, burning sensation of mediocrity.

by the time he drags himself through the door at night, the blond’s mental fortitude barely carries him long enough to make it to his armchair.

EVEN STILL --

he stalls behind his wife, leaning around to press a kiss to her pale featured. her beauty is enough to make him BROODY some nights -- here he is, overweight and throwing out his back every now and then -- and then there’s helen. every bit as beautiful as the day he married her.

he’s jealous, but GOD, does he LOVE HER.
