🌸 --- my roleplay petpeeve
the constant use of ‘hues’ to mean eyes. i have no problem at all with more elaborate or complex language in general, but that’s... just blatantly wrong, as far as the basic definition of the word??? hues does not remotely mean ‘eyes.’ it means ‘colour’ --- or, more specifically, according to dictionary definitions, ‘the property of light by which the colour of an object is classified as red, blue, green, or yellow in reference to the spectrum.’ it makes no sense to use that in place of ‘eyes.’ you can talk about the hue of someone’s eyes, if you’re describing the colour, but using it to replace the word entirely just doesn’t work. “his / her colours roamed around the room” doesn’t make sense, so why does everyone seem to always wanna write “his / her hues roamed around the room”???? it’s just a complete misuse of the word, plain and simple, and it’s so widespread. go as flowery as you want with your writing --- hell, the writers of the romantic period sure as fuck did, and we all know how much i adore romanticism as a literary movement --- but make sure you actually know the meaning of the words you’re using.
🍁 --- my opinion on multimuse blogs
they’re great!! to be frank, i can get a bit overwhelmed with them when a blog has 150 muses on there, but in general, i really like them, and i’m very glad that they’ve become more popular. i’ve considered making one myself, to be honest, because there are a few muses from classic lit that i’d really love to play but don’t have time to make separate blogs for.
love, love, love. of course, there are some ocs that just don’t click for me, just like there are some canon characters that don’t click for me either, but on the whole, i adore them to pieces. i love seeing the creativity people come up with, either for fandom or fandomless ocs. i’m always excited about well-crafted and well-written ocs.
💐 --- my favorite part about the fandom
it’s kind of nice that there... isn’t much of a fandom, if that makes sense??? there’s about four people on the whole of tumblr who write for this book, and it’s nice not to have a huge community with a bunch of drama. i’ve been part of big fandoms before, and it just isn’t enjoyable for me. too much fighting, too much hate, too much negativity. i like sitting off in a tiny little corner.
🌿 --- my least favorite part about the fandom
how book-based victor blogs never fucking last. in my three years of writing the being, at least ten book-based victor blogs have come around, and every time, they’re active for a month and then disappear. it’s... really, really disappointing. of course, i completely understand that some muses just don’t work out, and i’ve certainly abandoned my fair share of blogs too, but --- i dunno. it’s almost more disheartening that so many come around and then go dead; if there were just no blogs at all, i could deal with that, but i always get so excited about new blogs and then i always have to go through the disappointment when they go inactive after a few weeks. it’s saddening.
