35 days to go ...

As is often the case, “best laid plans of mice & men often go awry”. 

I woke this morning motivated to get out of the house and continue the streak of exercise that was going to help me accomplish this goal of the half marathon. Being the domestic doyen I aspire to be, this was the morning that I could fit in a load of washing, go for a walk, and have it hung out before I went to work for the day. Success!

In future, I may want to check the weather before I make these outlandish decisions as:             a) I washed my rain jacket            b) It was raining            c) I don’t have an umbrella            d) I wanted to go for a walk

The realist in me decided it was probably not a wise choice to go for a walk in the rain without my rain jacket as I didn’t want to run the risk of “catching a cold”. Smart move brain, always looking after me. 

Procrastination 1 Exercise 0

Instead of walking I decided I could still go for a surf no matter the weather, so surfing the web it was! After 20 minutes, my old friend guilt came back and I decided to check whether it had stopped raining. Unlucky (or lucky ... it depends on perspective) for me it had stopped raining. No excuse now, so out the door I went. 

Guilt 1 Procrastination 0

The walking track that I take is quite picturesque and it follows the coastline. It really helps reinforce the fact that I am lucky enough to live in a beautiful place of the world and have way too little appreciation for it. Maybe this reinvigorated exercise regime will inspire me to venture and out and really take advantage of the beautiful region I live in! (BUT we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves, baby steps!) 

Music was chosen on shuffle and off we went. 5k later, exercise done it was off to work to enjoy another day of fun and excitement!
