Jesus had long since given up hope of seeing any of his friends in Sallow Hills. Intellectually, he knew that not everyone had to die to get here like he had (in fact, from what he could tell, more people didn't than did), but he still couldn't shake the feeling that it would work that way for them. Maybe it was just something he told himself to comfort himself since there was no way to know how they were really doing, but if never seeing them again meant that they lived long, happy lives, then he could live with that. He still kept an eye out for them at the housing office and the B&B, and Ahsoka knew the major names he'd be looking for, but it was without any real expectation.
He'd never been the type to put a lot into the holidays anyway, and if he threw himself a little harder into work than he needed to this time of year, that was nobody's business but his. There was always plenty to do, and between helping to rebuild the Drowned Prince and organizing holiday activities at the White Rabbit and the community center, it had been longer than he'd have liked since he'd been out to the cathedral to check on the revenants. They'd never been significant problem in the four years he'd been living here, but after experiencing a zombie apocalypse, he couldn't help the need to keep careful watch over them.
