//gumshoe is my favorite person tbh. like i say that about everyone but i love gumshoe so much he deserves so much love and you play him so well and i just screaming. he does deserve more love
One of the things I really want to try and explore with him and that I haven’t really been able to yet is his relationship with the Feys.
Mia: While replaying T&T, he pretty much starts the flashback case at the river by commenting on her looks. In present cases, when presenting Mia’s profile, he’ll talk about stuff like how everyone on the force knew her and how they’d all lost a really great friend that day and still very nearly cries about her death two-three years later just talking about it. It’s possible he had a crush on her at some point, but regardless of whether or not he still had that crush I think the fact that he’s still so upset about her death two/three years later could hint at them having known each other more than just him being another cop she knew.
Maya: It kinda started out horribly between them because he arrested her as a suspect in her sister’s murder and after that she was just kinda everywhere with Nick and both became the #1 pair of people he didn’t want to see on a crime scene, but after the Hammond case he really started taking a liking to her. He was deeply moved and impressed by her actions while helping defend Edgeworth, really upset when she got accused of murdering Dr Grey, pretty much got fired trying to help Nick in his investigation and chased Shelly to rescue her and crashed his car trying to bring evidence back to Nick as he ran past multiple red lights, and rebuilt a whole bridge on his own in the mountains in the middle of winter just so Nick could try and rescue her on the other side.
Pearl: It’s pretty clear he loves and gets along with kids in general, but he keeps making efforts to impress her or cheer her up by showing her things (even when they’re things he probably shouldn’t) or even just outright giving them to her (she was really excited about getting a map of the Gatewater Hotel from him and showed it off to Nick, but had to leave it with him because she couldn’t read any of it.) In the last JFA case, the morning after the murder, Nick muses about the fact that he probably wouldn’t have made it back to the agency if Gumshoe hadn’t been very gently and patiently walking with crying Pearl while holding her hand that night.
TLDR I need Gumshoe to talk to more Fey people dammit
