Ella had come in earlier than most, as was her habit. The office was quiet and she had time to get everything in order before the chaos started, time to just have time to herself as she went of the schedule and start the coffee pot. As people started trickling in, Ella realized that their boss, who was normally punctual was not there yet. It was fine though, there wasn’t a meeting until closer to 10:30, and he wasn’t technically suppose to be there until 9.
As it reached closer to 9:20, Ella had already dealt with several problems, and was increasingly aware that she might be in it alone today. She worked efficiently, fixing any problems that arose, and sent others away when she didn’t have the authority to deal with said problems. By 9:45 she called the people her boss was suppose to have a meeting with and rescheduled for tomorrow, as the final paper work hadn’t made it to his desk until 9 am this morning and he wouldn’t have enough time to read said papers and be able to make adjustments, before the meeting. She called security to let her know if and when he came in to call her, and then tried calling the man himself. When he didn’t answer she went between annoyed and slightly concerned, she shoved it away from her mind and started her work for the day, though by 10:30 she had re-arrange his other meetings, for later in the day or week, depending how much preparation was needed for each.
She got a call from security around 11 am, and Ella got up and went to the break room to make a cup of coffee only to see him getting off the elevator, she quirked an eyebrow at him, her face in a ‘really?’ look before handing him the cup of coffee. “You’re very late Mr.Baynard. I am going to assume it was a good reason, and assume you’re about to apologize. So it’s fine, you’re welcome.” She silently nudges him to follow her toward his office. “I moved your appointments to either later in the day or throughout the week, you have until 1:30 for the Johnson meeting, another 3:00 for Skintzy meeting, and the meeting with the section leaders is at 5:00. Mr. Alvez from the advertising company has yet another issue he needs to talk to you about, and I am assuming Ms. Fernaz from finance wants to talk to you, I assume about Mr. Alvez. Your 10:30 meeting was moved to tomorrow as the paperwork just arrived at 9 am and I know you need to look at it.” She closes the door behind them, and walks over to his printer and pulls the paper off it. “Here is the new schedule and these are briefs I made this morning about the two meetings you have later, so you don’t have to re-read all the paperwork for those and I am assuming you haven’t eaten and I will place an order for lunch now so it’ll arrive around noon.”
“So what else do you need?” Ella asked, leaning against the desk, arms folded.
