Slowly he was getting used to this – working an office job, where he actually managed to be HOME at around 6 pm. Weird. Thinking about this flat as a HOME now, too, when it still looked pretty much the same as the day UNIT had handed him the keys. Except for Luke’s room. It had been important for Ed, that Luke could decorate his room however he wanted; could keep it as messy as he wanted, too. The rest of the flat was still a big construction site. Personality would have to be built over time. But it had only been a little over a week now. 9 days of a life crying for normalcy and yet still feeling so much like an act.
– Pouring himself a cup of coffee at this time of day probably wasn’t the smartest choice, but there he was, filling his mug, before he stepped to the fridge and peaked inside. What would they have for dinner tonight? Decisions to make, and if he was honest, his own opinion was rather drifting to one of the takeaway menus stuck to the fridge with fruit-shaped magnets.
As he heard the front door open, he closed the fridge and stepped out of the small kitchen into the hallway, flashing Luke a small smile as a WELCOME HOME. Still, the word felt odd. It had started to feel less like a weird dream, and more of an odd reality, but that didn’t mean he had fully accepted his new life yet. He was sure similar was true for Luke, too.
