though the flash of a camera set max a little on edge, and the sound of it going off could make her jump if she didn’t know where it was coming from, she still desperately loved photography. she had been out, trying to find some inspiration for a project of her own, rather than the photographs she had just taken for class recently. it meant snapping quick shots, not bothering to do much set up and instead just shooting what caught her eye in hopes that one of the pictures would prompt her to want to do something bigger. she had been taking another of these, quickly without much thought, when someone stepped in front of her camera right as she shot it. “shit.” max said, quickly bringing the camera down from where it was in front of her face. “i’m so sorry. i promise i didn’t mean to do that. i’m not some creep.” maybe the girl didn’t even care, but max was sensitive to taking people’s pictures when they didn’t know, and she couldn’t help but feel terrible about it. “seriously, it was an accident. you can watch me rip it up once it prints if you want.”
