Gianna Ricci (Adopted Mother): Gianna lost her daughter when she was changed and it permanently plagued her with grief. When Angelo found Chiara, he thought it was the perfect solution to his mate’s never ending sadness. When she met Gianna it felt like something clicked, like she’d seen her somewhere before. Gianna fell over herself and was incredibly welcoming. Chiara settled in well with her new family and was given everything she needed to excel as a vampire and with her education. Gianna and Angelo moved to Chicago to help found the Hema Academy and took their fledgling daughter with them.
Angelo Ricci (Adopted Father): Angelo saw Chiara in a night market and nearly fell over. She was the spitting image of his mate’s deceased daughter whom she mourned constantly. He went up to Chiara and introduced himself. They met a couple more times before he explained his offer. An eternal life of luxury filled with world travels and education. All of which were far beyond anything Chiara would achieve on her own with 11 siblings. She accepted his offer and was changed as a present for his wife. He and Gianna welcomed her with open arms and went straight to work teaching her how to be a vampire as well as enriching the little education she already had. He and Gianna were asked by Scorpius Getta to become teachers at the newly founded Hema Academy and so they all packed up and moved to Chicago 87 years ago.

Unnamed Siblings (11 brothers and sisters): Chiara was the 3rd eldest of 12 children. She was a caretaker for many of her siblings but had no desire for it. She wished to see the world and become educated and resented having to take care of her siblings. Chiara rarely thinks of them and has forgotten their names.

Averill Sookram (Ex-boyfriend): Averill was definitely a part of her bad boy warlock phase that her parents disapproved of. He was always fascinating and had incredibly interesting stories. Despite breaking up, they still can talk as friends.
Fiona ‘Fi’ Marz (Longtime Crush): If Fi was ever interested in her, Chiara would take her up in an instant. She doesn’t think they’d be a particularly good couple long term, but they would have fun.
Audo Wilhelm (Ex-Boyfriend): Audo was the first person Chiara connected with in Chicago. They began talking when she found out his power and had long conversations about reincarnation, tarot, and being an oracle. It was a good 10 years before she spoke to him again after they broke up, but they're mostly ok now.
Platonic Connections:
Scorpius Getta (Cool Uncle): Chiara heard lots of stories from her parents before she ever met Getta, which has taken away like 90% of his fear factor. Gianna has wild stories of their time spent together when they were younger.
Raphael Caron (Good Friend): Raphael is one of the most fun members of the seethe. He has an incredibly fascinating mind, and the two can talk about any subject for hours. He created “blood pops” for her 100th birthday as a surprise present.
Aleksander Mazur (Friend): Aleksander is a good guy; she knows that she can be a lot, but he is always willing to listen. Aleksander was the first person to take her out and let her experience being a vampire in her own right, rather than as someone’s daughter.
Richard Fili (Friend): Fili is a party animal and has had a poor influence on Chiara. He invited Chiara out the first time, and made her feel safe enough to keep on going. On the rare occasion she has alone time with him, she sees the effect that so many years, especially alone, has had on him. The anger and pure exhaustion he has over being alive is strong under the party personality.
Dan Prior (Student): Despite being nearly 120, Dan is still in Chiara’s class. He wasted the first 20 years of his vampiric life crying over his dead lover that he became behind quickly. He has connected with Rachel though, and seems to be helping her push through.
Aisling Rois (Friend): Aisling and Chiara catch up when they have time. They often work opposite schedules which can make it difficult to see one another. Chiara jokes that Aisling always makes the best drinks.
Morana ‘Ana’ Vickors (Fascinated): Ana is one of the older vampires in the seethe, that she thinks would tell her about her life. She’s been attempting to get to know her, but they don’t often have chances to speak.
Chen Ying Yue (Student): Chen is doing well with her studies. She’s very social and excels at bringing other student’s out of their shells. Despite being so young, Chen is working on her Master’s degree as well as her vampiric training.
Farrokh Alvi (Friendly): Farrokh has lauded her with tales from when he and Petra belonged to their previous seethes and the daring escapades they went on. He’s a major reason for her mild fangirling over the older vampire woman. He also speaks Italian very fluently, which is a nice break from the general English spoken around the seethe.
Rachel Sloane (Student): Chiara had a dream upbringing as a vampire and has always felt enraged when she hears the numerous stories of abuse and mistreatment of other young vampires. She has tried reaching out to Rachel in class, though the younger woman hasn’t responded much.
Petra Chak (Inspiration): Chiara has always had an academic mind, and hadn’t considered any physical training for protection; she was a vampire now so surely it wouldn’t have been a problem. But then she saw Petra in action during one of her first nights in Chicago and was blown away. She has received some lessons after becoming an Underling, and wants to continue them.
Lestat Marcoux (Friendly): Chiara was immediately interested when Lestat mentioned that he did homebrewing, and asked if she could watch and learn what he was doing. The two began talking and spoke about his past in France which she also found fascinating.

Sadie McCoy (Uptight): For being not much older than Chiara, Sadie always acts uptight. They’ve gotten into a few spats and now she avoids Getta’s assistant.
Chai Gates (Frustration): Chiara struck up a conversation with Chai about mysticism and reincarnation in general. It turned into a pretty intense argument, that one or the other brings up each time they see each other. It’s fun at times to try and pull up evidence to convince Chai she’s right, but her derision over the idea wares on Chiara’s nerves.
Pets:
Picco (Chihuahua): She asked her dad to name her puppy when she got him a few years back and he named him tiny. He was a rescue dog that she got after a bad break up.

Yip Hon Yue (Father): Chen ran away after her father remarried. She was 18 already and had no desire to stay in her small suburban town. Chen had dreams of becoming a magazine editor who worked in the big city and had a fabulous, glamorous life. Her father wanted her to stay in school and push forward with her education. Yip saw her dad only one more time before he passed away in 2009.
Jonelle Yue (Mother): Jonelle moved away after Chen’s father took custody of her. Later when Facebook and other forms of social media took off, Chen found her mother through her sister’s page. She’d ended up in Florida with a new husband and family.
Melinda Ana Yue (Step-Mother): Melinda was Jonelle’s good friend, and Chen had known her her whole life. So when everything exploded Chen had no sympathy for her or her father and just wanted out.

Bao Mei Yue (Sister): Bao Mei is Chen’s little sister. They were close, but were fighting a lot when Chen ran away. Mei blamed their mom for leaving, while Chen knew it was their dad’s fault that they got divorced. Chen found Mei on Facebook and stalks her page regularly under a fake account.
Simon Wang (Step-Brother): Simon was her best friend before their parents got married and they even planned on running away to Chicago when their parents got married. He flaked out on her last minute and they never spoke again.
Emma Wang (Step-Sister): Emma was closer to Mei’s age and seemingly filled the hole of her absence as a sister.

Dan Prior (Acquaintance): Dan and Chen rarely talked before she met Rachel. He was the sullen angry guy in the corner who’d ignore her if she said anything. It was irritating, but Rachel vouched for him and he’s now even started going golfing with them occasionally.
Sadie McCoy (Complicated): Sadie was the first vampire she ever spoke to, and began the investigation into the vampire who accidentally changed her as well as the bus accident. She found the vampire who changed her innocent of any charges and there was no retribution for what happened to her. It felt like a slap to the face to Chen. And though a part of her really likes Sadie and knows she was doing her job, the other part is still deeply angry over it.
Chiara Ricci (Teacher): Chiara has been her teacher for the past 20 years. She brought up doing a masters program as she had quite a few years left of her vampiric training. She is currently working towards masters in Journalism and English.
Rachel Sloane (Good Friend): Rachel and Chen both share a lot of anger over their turnings. Rachel with being abandoned and Chen with being a mistake change. It’s helped them bond even when they may not have had much in common. The two spend a lot of time at the Mini Golf Course after hours talking and choosing to be away from everyone else.
Lawrence Cocci (Guide): Lawrence was the person who realized what happened to her and took her to the local seethe. On the way from the bus crash where she got covered in the blood of the guy next to her, he explained that there were vampires and because she had ingested his blood she was a vampire too. She thought it was a joke, and still occasionally wakes up thinking it was. Lawrence has kept in touch and explained all about the witches and warlocks and is now teaching her about the human shifters. She’s not sure if it’s pity or because he likes her that he keeps coming back around.

Ebrar Yildirim (Mother): Ebrar was Petra protector and teacher. Ebrar taught her how to read, write and protect herself along with teaching her to cook, clean and be ladylike. Petra still has a few things saved that once belonged to Ebrar.

Hassan Yildirim (Brother): Petra does not remember much about her little brother beside taking care of him and helping him with his studies. Hassan died from a cold when he was a few years old. Petra remembers blaming herself but not why.
Diem Yildirim (Sister): Petra does not remember much about her little sister beside taking care of her and helping Diem with her studies. The last time Petra heard from Diem was at her wedding. Petra is unsure what happened to Diem.

Mohamed Li Chek (Son): Mohamed was a sweet baby and the joy of Petra’s life. Petra did not have a lot of time to enjoy being married or a mother when she was turned and unable to return to her family. To get this far in life she had to push her past out of her mind. Averill Sookram (Ex-Boyfriend): Averill was her longest relationship, lasting almost a century on and off. Right now Petra cannot stand the sight of him. She knows that he would not mind another go around but she is currently unsure.
Platonic Connections:
Scorpius Getta (Seethe Leader): Getta is the closest thing to a best friend that Petra has. It was conversations with Getta that lead to her turning coat against her previous master and assisting in his death. He may be the only person she would trust with her life, and has at various points. She finds his ambition and passion towards the advancement of vampires endearing and would follow him in whatever apparently hair brained scheme he planned.
Fiona ‘Fi’ Marz (Good Friend): Petra has seen Fi evolve into the fierce vampire she is today. She likes to think that she had some influence over that. The encouragement to fight and protect herself, as well as her confidence. She did not have the same issues as Scorpius when it came to seeing Fiona as a grown woman making her own choice.
Morana ‘Ana’ Vickors (Old Friend): Petra had met Morana at a very different point of her life. She had no child and Lestat was not her mate. She was as strong then as she is now, and her morals have only grown with age. Ana is also a passionate advocate for the rules, which Petra appreciates
Raphael Caron (Friendly): Petra did not quite understand Raphael when she first met him. He was odd and had a passion for creation and invention that Petra had not much witnessed in their race before. She always fondly sees him as a miniature Getta and is interested to see what else he has up his sleeve.
Sadie McCoy (Friend): Petra and Sadie work with one another every day between the expansion and day to day business of the seethe. For being so young, Petra is impressed with Sadie’s ability to hold presence in a room and control those within it.
Chiara Ricci (Friendly): Chiara asked Petra to train her in combat when she became an underling. Her “parents” were against the idea, however Chiara has done exceedingly well. She thinks it is good for members of the seethe to exercise their minds as well as their fighting and physicality.
Farrokh Alvi (Old Friend): Petra has known Farrokh for many centuries and he is her oldest friend. She was Dorj’s right hand and took part in the attack that changed Farrokh. The two soon became known for their deadliness as a pair and were sent out to kill and intimidate various seethes. They travelled together to initially take over the seethe under their previous ruler, though quickly switched sides once they realized how much stronger the original seethe was. He is one of the few Petra is willing to relax and share a drink with. They can always seem to pick up a conversation regardless of when the last time they spoke was. He’s also one of the few who can offer a challenge to Petra in combat.
Sven (Acquaintance): Sven has been a part of their seethe for a while but they have barely talked or hung out. Sadie keeps bringing Sven around and Petra does not mind. He seems like an interesting character once he starts talking, and she appreciates his confidence with his fighting.
Simon L Weyden (Acquaintance): Fi randomly introduced Petra to Simon and Petra believes Fi is interested in him. He is a great conversationalist.
Aleksander Mazur (Annoyance): Aleksander likes to play white knight too much for Petra’s liking. They are friendly and share pleasantries but that is about it.

Richard Fili (Annoyance): Fili is a hurt soul and Petra understands but Fili is sometimes so self destructive that he becomes destructive to the seethe as a whole. When that happens Petra can no longer see him as a friend but a threat.
Dan Prior (Annoyance): Being forcibly changed into a vampire is hard for everyone, especially those who physically lose someone in the process, but Dan takes his grievances to the next level and Petra is sick of it.
Benjamin Francis Miller (Annoyance): Ben is a loudmouth Cat Shifter who has made friends with multiple vampires. Petra normally would not mind but there is something about his flirty personality that screams trouble to Petra.

Calla Lily (Himalayan Cat): Calla Lily is an all white cat that was gifted to Petra by Getta when she accepted becoming his 2nd. Petra was put off by the cat at first and ignored it for the most part, until the day Calla Lily went missing. Petra searched for her in a panic but eventually found her and started to care for her more closely. Petra has done a lot of damage to idotic vampires who thought they could take Calla Lily from her.

He never fed or allowed anyone else to feed off of her while she was human since Getta held out on changing her into a vampire until she was mature enough. After living and dealing with Getta for centuries, nearly a millennium, he has turned from an overbearing father to a cool understanding brother and to a friend; which he is all three at times. Fi likes their relationship and the fact that he can switch to whichever role she needs from him at the time without making it awkward.

Simon L Weyden (Interested): Fi is interested in him and she is sure Simon is interested in her. She is waiting for him to ask her out and thinks he may be the one.
Platonic Connections:
Raphael Caron (Family): Raphael was one of the last humans that Getta changed and Fi considers him to be her everything. He is perfect! The perfect brother. The perfect son. The perfect friend. Raphael calls himself her platonic soulmate and Fi would have to agree. She loves him in a non-romantic and unsexual way.
Aleksander Mazur (Family): Fi was once Aleksander’s keeper before becoming a guardian. She felt a lot like an older bossy sister than anything else when it came to dealing with Aleksander. Their personality is very much the same causing a lot of good times and even worse bad times. Fi doesn't see the world without her vampiric siblings, especially Aleksander, who stares across the hall from her.
Richard Fili (Family): Fi and Fili have what many would call a strange relationship. They have both been around for a long time and agreed that being in each other's presence for more than a certain amount of time is destructive for the both of them. Whenever Fi needs a wild night or to get away and out of Chicago, Fili is her usual travel companion. She loves that they can be attached at the hip for weeks then the following smile at each other from across the hallway and keep it moving. These times dependency of each other varies from days, weeks, months and years.
Dan Prior (Family): Fiona and Dan did not talk much before Winona, Fiona’s vampire sister's death. Dan, Getta and Fili are now one of her last connections to Winona besides her other vampire siblings. Lately she has been trying to get him out of his funk and covering for him whenever he sneaks out.
Petra Chak (Good Friend): Petra was the main model of a female vampire that Fiona saw growing up. She was strong and fierce, and once Fi was changed, Petra took over much of her teaching and pushed her to be as fierce and strong as she was.
Sadie McCoy (Unlikely Friendship): Fiona has gotten Sadie to let her hair down and relax. Their personalities crashed when Sadie was first introduced to the seethe and eventually became Getta’s secretary. After getting Sadie out and away. Fiona saw a different side of her away from work and being damn near perfect.
Farrokh Alvi (Friend): Farrokh is entertaining to speak with and hang out with. There is never a dull moment with him in the room. Fi likes to flirt with him aimlessly, Farrokh is always willing and ready to respond. Their own personal game to try and see who will back down first.
Briar Larson (Friend): Aleksander introduced Fi to Briar; mostly because Aleksander thought Fi needed to chill and Briar is into meditation. Fi has tried to learn meditation from Briar but it is seeming hopeless. Fi is currently trying to get Briar to join her for late night yoga.
Lestat Marcoux (Friendly): Fi still cannot believe Lestat somehow tied a woman like Morana down. When they were first introduced, Fi thought it was a joke, but it turned out the two are actually sickly sweet to each other and sicken to watch. Fi has recently started to talk to Lestat more.
Amy Colt (Friendly): During a really bad tornado, it was whispered that Amy was the one to place orders with for animal shifter and human shifter blood. They continued to deal like this for bad thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Sven (Tension): Sven is a big mystery! At first it was intriguing and Fiona ate it up but centuries later, she still doesn't get the man. Every time she tries to have any sort of conversation with him sober ends up feeling like she is pulling teeth.
