Cassia comes from a warlock line where family means absolutely nothing and it feeds into her everyday life. Love, happiness and joy are words that hold no meaning to her. Some see her as cold but she’s a realist. She’s independent, practical minded, strong, aggressive and conservative. Cassia is great with emergencies, making her work at the local hospital and learning her powers a breeze. She hardly expects good things to happen, learning from past mistakes, allowing that knowledge to dictate her future rather than hoping and wishing for the best. This also feeds into her over confidence and unwillingness to ask for help. She is her own biggest enemy and is always fighting with herself over what she knows is right and what she truly wants. Family means nothing and love is a joke but Cassia cares deeply for those she bonds with and eventually calls friends. She effortlessly picks up on energies of a room and can flip it around. At first Cassia will come off as cold and distant to strangers but with time she will reveal her gentle and compassionate nature. This is especially true when it comes to caring for the sick or wounded. She is passionate about her job and learning biokinetics.

Kudzai Rinker (Mentor): Kudzai had originally thought Cassia was from her family line. Cassia fought to prove that while she doesn’t know her parents she was not from the Rinker lineage. She is unsure what Kudzai saw in her but she accepted her mentorship once proof was given. They have a strong mentor and mentee relationship but nothing more.
Jace Cicero (Former Mentor/Friend): Jace was Cassia’s first mentor when she went to Chicago. As a male, elemental master she was not sure what he could bring to her education, but he helped her catch Kudzai’s attention and put in a good word for her. They remain good friends to this day, with Cassia taking on much of his weekly healing.
Tristan Lawton (Good Friend): Tristan has the same power as Cassia. At first she gave him a wide berth but slowly softened up to him as she taught him ways that helped her handle her own powers. He does not have quite the same aptitude for Biokinetics, and as a result many of her techniques haven’t worked.

Sada Warren (Jealous): Despite no longer mentoring under Kudzai, Sada still has a closer relationship to Cassia’s mentor. She is jealous of the attention, despite trying her hardest not to be.

→ History
Cassia was left as a baby on the footsteps of hospital just outside of Cincinnati. No notes, no explanation, with a scrap of fabric as a blanket. She was a small, sickly baby, prone to tremors, but once big enough, she left the hospital and was brought to an orphanage. There, her shakes continued, as did her growing anger and jadedness. Cassia was largely passed over for adoption at the orphanage, and as soon as she could she left to figure out life on her own. She worked originally as a maid for a wealthy house, but found her shaking hands destroyed any chance at succeeding and she was fired soon after. Cassia bounced around various jobs, until she found work in a hospital kitchen. She found a love for caring for people. Speaking to the patients when she brought up food, developing a report with nurses and doctors. She then trained to become a nurse aid. It was in this job that Cassia found herself. She had a knack for coming in right when a patient was at their worst and pulling them through. She could calm the most distressed through calm words and a hand on the wrist, and a few times found wounds on her that were miraculously gone from a patient the next day. Cassia tried to chalk it up to coincidence but never forgot it.
About 5 years into her nursing career Cassia was found by Emmett Wilhelm. Reports of “miraculous” healing had been coming out of the hospital for nearly a decade, and he went to investigate, finally discovering it was her after seeing her work in the emergency wing. He explained everything over coffee and offered fare to Chicago. She told him to get out and was walking to the door to kick him out, only to find a man made of fire in his place. He walked towards her and transformed back. She finally began to believe him and a week later was in Chicago. She was introduced to the possible mentors within her first few days and only got one offer from Jace Cicero in the following week. He was an elemental, seemingly nice, and the only one who wanted her. A few weeks later she got a job at Mercy Hospital and began working as a nurse. There she saw Kudzai Rinker for the first time, saving a man who had been nearly at the edge of death. She became fascinated with her, bringing up what she saw to Jace when she arrived home. He gave her a name and a location to find her and set her off. The first time she got the door slammed in her face. A week later after watching her again she got an abrupt transfer to pediatrics at the behest of a senior staff member. The next week she listened for a minute before teleporting away. After the third rejection, she told Jace she was giving up. A few days later Kudzai called her.
She’d take her on if she proved not to be a Rinker. She had a week to prove it. Jace gave her a copy of the book of Marks and she poured over it on her nights off. Together they found that she wasn’t a close relation to any major family. Kudzai became her mentor and began training her. She was an incredibly quick study and mastered her beginning powers easily. Kudzai then forced her to get her degree in Nursing to continue training. With her abilities, Cassia began to flourish in a way she never thought she could.
→ The Present
Cassia has recently started training on the advanced level power called Healing Touch. Under Kudzai she was able to quickly master her basic powers of Regenerative Healing and Internal Bodily Cleansing. While she has not mastered Health Manipulation, she’s hoping that training with Healing Touch will help her advance. Cassia has also been incorporating Tristan into her potions, spells and charms training. Cassia has joined a private experimental study to help find a remedy or cure to the frequent hand spasms that Biokinetics experience daily.
When she’s not completely focused on her powers and training, Cassia takes time to watch and learn from the warlocks and witches around her. As a Biokinetic she had to attend medical school and Kudzai taught her that it was not only important to know the body but also to know the magic that flows through the warlock or witch that you’re working on. Trying to heal someone with magic that can’t be healed would be devastating. She is keeping her eyes on Judson Cleirigh, Nathaniel Clarke, Belle Cunningham, Lawrence Armii, Fallon Draga, Talia Muhr and more to better understand other magic user’s conditions and medical needs.
