@lilolilyr I hope you were interested in talking about the OG3 as an OT3... otherwise ignore this rant ads;lkajsedfljk. Also... angst. My bad.
Anyways, I’m having a lot of thoughts about a Lykon lives!AU and how it changes things with Quynh. Especially if Lykon wasn’t there for the actual witch trials and Quynh still gets thrown in the ocean.
Like imagine Lykon finally finding Andromache and approaching her with his normal wide grin, thrilled to finally be reunited with his girls. But Andromache still has a manacle around one wrist, a snapped chain link dangling from it, and she doesn’t even look up as he comes closer. The smile slides off his face -- Lykon has never seen Andromache look fragile but she seems ready to break, just curled up on herself and shaking slightly.
She finally looks up and sees him, and Lykon offers her a small smile. For a second he thinks she’s going to smile back, but instead her lips twist into a snarl. She stalks towards him and he opens his arms tentatively. But instead she just shoves his shoulder, hard, and he stumbles back, catching himself before she shoves him again.
Where were you, she growls, where the FUCK were you.
She keeps shoving at him, starts trying to hit him, alteranting between hissing where were you and fight back! Lykon lets her hit him, once, twice, three times, then he catches her wrist and pulls her flush against his chest.
Andromache tries to break away, tries every dirty trick she knows, but Lykon’s arms are a vice around her. Eventually he threads his fingers through her hair and presses a kiss to her temple. And that’s when Andromache shatters.
Lykon learns the whole story in bits and pieces -- Andromache and Quynh accused of being witches, hanging over and over, then Quynh being torn away from her and locked in the iron coffin.
Will find her Andromache, Lykon promises, brushing his lips across her forehead, ignoring the dirt and grime and sweat caked there. I promise we’ll find her.
How do you know?
There’s no other option
Listen, I’m just thinking a lot about how Lykon wouldn’t let them stop searching. It’s different though -- Andy searches out of guilt and self hatred. Lykon searches for Quynh with hope. He makes sure they take breaks and time for themselves, makes sure Joe and Nicky get the time alone they need and that they take Andy away so she can recharge. He doesn’t push Andy on the days where she can’t look at him or touch him; he holds her tight on the nights where she can’t get keep herself away.
The cold meds are kicking in but I’m thinking about them finding Quynh around the time Booker becomes immortal. And how soft the renunion would be. S O F T
