Mabon • Autumnal Equinox
Autumnal Equinox, the 16th solar term in the 24 solar terms, signifies the midpoint of autumn. After this point of time, nighttime gets longer and daytime gets shorter, which signifies the year is going towards the end. Autumn is a season of gratitude, and autumnal equinox symbolizes harvest; while indulging in the harvest and prosperity, let’s not forget to show our gratitude toward the people who’ve helped us, who’re there going through the tough times with us together and last but not least, our spiritual team.
On this day with equally divided daytime and nighttime, it’s a good time to self-reflect; to let go of what’s not serving us anymore, mentally, physically and spiritually. We should also be aware that light and shadow coexist in us, and that’s exactly why we don’t have to fear darkness, as it reminds us to face our shadows honestly. If it’s time for the shadows to heal, they’ll transmute and help us grow further.
Namaste
Finally finishing my healing buffalo drum.
Outer circle is a Druids call for peace in Gaelic.
Ouroboros circle is protection spell in Ogham.
Inner spiral is the deepest magic of healing of the body, the spirit, and the mind.
My weekly spreads for January. I realized that I liked journaling about my days, so I gave myself plenty of room to do just that. Soon I hope to be adding bread recipes and ritual instructions.
How To Witch: OGAM FreeCasting Divination
OGAM Divination can be very similar to a Oracle or Tarot reading: you can pick one by one of the staves from a bag and place them into any Spread chosen and interpret their meaning as per that spread. IN THIS POST I’m going to direct the content towards FreeCasting of the OGAM (or OGHAM... both are correct!) which is a more traditional method of divination using the OGAM. You can also rune FreeCast with this set-up.
The TOP 1/3 of your casting cloth (the area FURTHEST from the caster) represents THE FUTURE. The further the OGAM stave, the further the future it will happen in.
The MIDDLE 1/3 of the casting cloth represents THE PRESENT.
The BOTTOM 1/3 of the casting cloth (the area CLOSEST to the caster) represents THE PAST. The closest to you, the further in your past it happened.
The LEFT SIDE of the cloth (as noted by the casters left hand) shows the shadow side of reality, which are buried or deep rooted psychological factors. This side represents your shadow self or shadow-work you need to do.
The RIGHT SIDE of the cloth shows the brighter points of reality, that which is out in the open or that for which you should strive. This could be the positive lesson your reading is trying to teach you.
When you read with staves, note:
Does the OGAM appear upright or reversed?
Is the OGAM beside another OGAM? Are they related or working together?
Please keep in mind that just like Tarot decks and Oracle decks and everything else your staves should be cleansed, charged and meditated with to instill intent such as “insight” or “divination of truth” before use.
But most of all, HAVE FUN and be open to receiving the message because all this shit likes you call you out on your shit.
In Darkness and in Light, where Truth is still Truth,
