Land Ritual

So I'm at my parents house for the weekend for a family event. We've got multiple generations under one roof and i don't know what that's like in your families but in mine, it mostly spells possible emotional turmoil. 10pm and everyone went to their perspective rooms cuz everyone is old now. I just got here so I went outside to meditate. I stuck my bare feet on the earth and dug in and the earth accepted me but the spirits of the land asked that I not ground there and take energy from them. They werent genii loci... their voices were too melodic and sad and like chimes. It had to be fae I was hearing. They expressed to me that there had been so much taking and they couldnt do anymore as they were also just now trying to build spring energy. I asked if I could help out and, honestly, they seemed accepting but dubious.

So I did something Ive never done before. I joined astral and this world and did a ritual in both, while paying attention to both.

I created my physical circle and sat in it in the north west, the place of nwyvre mud. The north in the dark is the place of the Ovate and out there tonight I felt right at home. I could sense curiosity as I got settled. I completed my standard breathing techniques and light body exercises to get into meditation state. Took a little longer then normal because I'd had mountain dew recently while driving and I was fresh off the road. Took a while to quiet my mind and thats ok.

I then found the house in astral and opened my circle there around the whole property. I called to the quarters, the elements, and asked them to protect, bless, and inspire. I then completed invoking and evoking peace, prosperity, and inspiration. I called upon the trees of the land, of oak, pine, beech, maple, and ash to give their protection and to help keep the land purified and balanced. I gave a gift of "blessing herbs" (which i carry with me when traveling to new areas) to the spirits of place and the spirits who live in this are. I did the ritual in astral as a 50 foot creature so I could easily and quickly move around the whole property.

Next I took that energy from calling upon reiki, the elements, and the spirits of the trees and I put my hands, both on the physical plane and in astral, on the stones beneath my feet and felt the energy flow thru me as if I was a wand into the earth around me. Into all of the land around me. Deep down like tree roots and out like sunbeams, spreading the peace, the protection, and the inspiration from the ritual.

I chanted, as a Druid will, on occasion. What I chanted is sacred to the Druids and wont be listed here.

I then closed my circle in the astral and physical world. Now I am ready for bed. I'm curious what the local fae say tomorrow.

A frog hopped across my path as I was walking home. I loved that.
