Mabon • Autumnal Equinox

Autumnal Equinox, the 16th solar term in the 24 solar terms, signifies the midpoint of autumn. After this point of time, nighttime gets longer and daytime gets shorter, which signifies the year is going towards the end. Autumn is a season of gratitude, and autumnal equinox symbolizes harvest; while indulging in the harvest and prosperity, let’s not forget to show our gratitude toward the people who’ve helped us, who’re there going through the tough times with us together and last but not least, our spiritual team.

On this day with equally divided daytime and nighttime, it’s a good time to self-reflect; to let go of what’s not serving us anymore, mentally, physically and spiritually. We should also be aware that light and shadow coexist in us, and that’s exactly why we don’t have to fear darkness, as it reminds us to face our shadows honestly. If it’s time for the shadows to heal, they’ll transmute and help us grow further.
