this had me cackling.
‘seasons change, the world turns’ but it’s Han stranded on Corellia in his childhood home. it’s Han watching time pass by and each day being more painful than the previous one because he is, once again, stuck on the very planet that chained him and cut off his wings before they even had the chance to grow properly, before he even learned how to fly — yet this time he had willingly come back. it’s Han being haunted by his past, by the ghosts of his parents. it’s Han trying to hold on but he’s suffocated by the world around him — everything is suffocating. the air, the house he lives in with Chewie and the twins. his own choices, the words that come out of his mouth. his past crawling back from the grave to get him. the memory of his only happy years, long gone and slowly fading into the abyss of his mind. it’s Han realising he is growing old. it’s Han, once again, abandoned.
Han: *blasts the comm after completely failing to impersonate an Imperial officer despite having once been one*
Han: Luke! We're gonna have company!
Luke:
Luke: wait what?
Luke: you said you'd stall them!
Luke: you literally said that like two seconds ago
Luke: I barely had time to leave the room
Luke: what did you do??
Han:
Han:
Han: never mind what I did
Han: it's not important okay
Han: go save the day, chop chop
That’s one helluva pilot!” he commented. “Yeah,” Han yelled as he beckoned to the younger man. “How about you appreciate the maneuvers from behind cover before you get your admiring self shot?
Finn, admiring Poe, and Han, admiring ways to not die; The Force Awakens novelization (pg 184)
What now?” he heard himself asking. Standing in the hatch opening, Rey peered downward. “We follow his instructions. After all, he’s Han Solo. He must know what he’s doing.”
The Force Awakens novelization (pg 112), prior to Finn & Rey getting caught up in the rathtar debacle
“You’ll freeze before you reach the first marker!” “Then I’ll see you in HELL!” -rides off angrily-
bro code or bromance or whatever. Han’s out to save Luke.
First impression- bouncy, excitable, fantasy-minded, agreeable, young. I also was skeptical that you could be THAT knowledgable about all the lit and history you posted about. Current impression- nerdier than can be expressed, lover of stoic beauty, deeply and quietly sentimental, somewhat disagreeable on principle, still young. Also- you never open your mouth and throw around history OR opinions without having a stout frame of reference. Most of all- an old soul.
