My story with getting into Psycho Cuties and also the English fan made dub drama
Important note: PLEASE DO NOT GO HARASS THE FOLKS MENTIONED IN THIS POST!! PLEASE AND THANK YOU, I DON'T WANT TO START DRAMA! The Internet is already crazy as it is
This post is meant for psycho cuties fans and for folks who know the entire situation. I'm gonna be talking about it blended with my experience with the cartoon for a while.
So, I discovered Psycho Cuties on my recommendation page which was an English fan made dub by the channel Small Town Studios. At the time, that video had around 1 million+ views and I decided to put it in my "watch later" playlist. When I decided to watch it one day, I was intrigued by it! As soon as the character known as Dr Masacrik loomed over to the camera with a wide unsettling smile, I was just like, "Alastor?"
I thought that whoever voiced the dude was pretty awesome (English interpretation was done by Aiden Ditre)! I was thinking "Wow! Whoever did his voice is a good voice actor!"
Aiden, who is the founder of the channel Small Town Studios is a talented young man and also has an indie project of his own which is his series "Space Bros" and he's really passionate about it! I highly recommend you go watch it since he's got two episodes and a few shorts on his channel!
Anyway, let's just say that it took me a while to uhh develop a crush on the character that is Masacrik 0////o
Anyway, moving on!
I was one of those people that apparently got click baited by the infamous "Psycho Cuties Iceberg" video made by JuniDrawz. I was taken aback and was questioning what I was watching and I didn't want to disappoint people that follow me or who I'd like to interact with on social media and IRL. I'm not the type to call out people online for their suspicious behavior or what they've done like draw questionable art, but I was one of those people that got fooled by misinformation. I won't go into detail, but the stuff that was mentioned in the iceberg video was indeed debunked. There were reasons why the creator Tamakuz had drawn the characters in weird situations. Do I think she might've made bad decisions while drawing them? Yeah. But does that mean she's a bad person? Of course not! I myself have drawn some weird stuff that involved my own characters which I never really posted online. I stopped at around 19 and I'm no longer drawing stuff that would be considered problematic and would probably get me cancelled if I ever posted it
Aiden of STS has been really upset these past few months because people accuse him of him creating Psycho Cuties which I was fully aware of. Him playing around with a fictional character sounds really great! Some of the lines that he's said makes me wanna do animatics of my favorite livestream moments where he's basically given requests to say in his interpretation of Masacrik. I also think it's pretty amazing that he has an indie series! The more, the merrier!
However, as some of you know, Aiden is a 16-year-old which I didn't know until one of his streams where he revealed his age (he was 15 at the time). I was definitely one of those folks who maybe mis aged him to being 20ish. I don't exactly know how to feel about an at-the-time 15-year-old voicing a 25+year-old character for a series that's rated 18+. On one hand, I don't exactly mind it as long as he's not doing any "adult stuff". On the other hand, I'm definitely concerned. He had recently deleted the fan-made dub for Psycho Cuties episode 2 which I am deeply sad for. However, one thing worth mentioning is that (and if you've already seen it before it was deleted) there's this one but where after the shot that showed the "mind reader" that literally displayed 18+, the next shot shows Mimi looking at the Dr's door where he experiments on people's bodies and puts them together. And you can hear him going "Yes! That's it! Yes! Oh-here it comes!" Before shouting "It's ALIVE!!". In that particular scene, it almost did sound like Masacrik was..uh...stroking himself...
Now while I think that scene was kinda genius for visual storytelling, cuz it shows that in Mimi's POV she pretty much hypersexualizes Masacrik, I don't exactly think that this was Aiden's intent cuz in one short where he talks about some Tik Tok video making false accusations of what was happening in that Psycho Cuties fan dub, he started cackling because when he read what that Tik Tok had said "He was j3rking off to whatever yandere shit he's into" Aiden was like "Masacrik was NOT doing that, okay?"
Keep in mind, Aiden is also neurodivergent and has stated that he's autistic. Yes, I know that isn't a good excuse for what he does and we definitely should NOT talk down to or infantilize him even if he is a high schooler. That also doesn't mean we should be aggressive towards him just because he may or may not be adultifying himself
I also don't really appreciate how he constantly makes streams of him talking about situations after situations and it's made me not want to watch his videos for fun viewing. He constantly talks about how no one watches his "Space Bros" animated series and only comes in for Psycho Cuties fan content since he seems to be the best English fan voice on YouTube. I want him to succeed in making his series and if he wishes (that is, IF Tamakuz ever allowed it) he can continue making fan content whether it be Psycho Cuties or anything else.
Tamakuz apparently commented on one of his PC fan dub videos saying "Who the fuck r you?"
Now, before you guys jump to conclusions, keep in mind that Tamakuz is Russian and she may have not meant this comment as a mean attack! Russian is apparently a language that can be difficult to translate exactly into English sentences. But this has made Aiden delete the video which even though it might be for the better, I still am sad to know it had been deleted along with a couple of other fun Psycho Cuties fan made YouTube shorts as well.
Recently, a friend of Tamakuz apparently watched Aiden's Space Bros pilot and apparently heavily criticized it which was pretty uncalled for cuz it was very unsolicited. And of course Aiden got upset about it. Honestly, he doesn't need to make videos and shorts about how awful the situation is cuz creators don't just keep posting about every single controversy.
Like I said, PLEASE DON'T call him out or harass/attack him. He's still a kid and he's still figuring stuff out. He's a very talented VA with so many talents to give! I think he could be a really great singer, cuz his voice is amazing!
Tamakuz is also pretty talented as well despite being flawed. I appreciate the fact that she can do hand drawn 2D animation and make an original music soundtrack for her own work! I can also appreciate her for being unapologetically chaotic in her own way!
I'm rooting for both sides and I want both to succeed, but I think a lot of stuff needs to change.
This goes for all artists/animators/voice actors/fan content creators/etc

The past seventy-two hours have been the worst of my life. With the PsychoCuties fandom collapsing in on itself and Aiden having been witch hunted into quitting I’m fucking done. I quit the fandom entirely in its entirety. No last fucking posts for you guys. Bullying a sixteen year old to fucking abandoning what he’s loved is criminally insane.
As for the shit that was brought to light about him I agree the discord shit was stupid, nobody that young should have a server it gets overwhelming very fast (speaking from experience). As for his… questionable jokes, I strongly disagree with them; he shouldn’t have been joking like that with twelve year olds. It’s not about the four year age gap it’s about the gap in maturity. As for the racism allegations he was hacked. And even if he wasn’t he was fucking eleven. Eleven year olds do stupid shit. Hell, even sixteen year olds do stupid shit. They can sound rude due to hormones with the classic teenage attitude. They can make mistakes because their frontal lobe isn’t fully developed. Shame on everyone at this point. I’m actually fucking done. Attack me for my opinions too and I’ll block you. Fuck this.
On the off handed chance one of Aiden’s friends see this tell him I somewhat sympathize with him. However he did do a lot of stupid shit. That should have been monitored or at-least have had his actions double checked before going through with them. He didn’t deserve being witch hunted. I’m sorry that he had to go through that practically alone. If he ever needs someone to double check his actions or a friend I’m here; just DM me. (edit: reading this back I sound like a pedo. On god I’m just a lonely sixteen year old who sympathizes with another stupid sixteen year old. Please don’t throw me in the slammer. 😭)
