His hands were paws. His teeth were fangs. His hair -- long as it was -- was brown fur.
The forest was silent, save for the occasional twittering of the birds overhead and the soft whump of the rabbits’ rumps as these hit the soft soil. But the elf-bear of the Woodland Realm had no time for birds or rabbits, as he followed the trail of new footprints on the ground.
Seeing that these stopped just behind a leafy bush, he scuttled beneath it, his hands latching on to something soft. Was it an ankle? A boot?
Slowly, Thranduil looked up, seeing a flash of dark hair. An elf would have spoken at that point, but he wasn’t an elf. He was a bear, the fiercest bear to roam the forest near Doriath.
“Grrrrrr.”
