If you want normal headcanons, then I think rek has a charm bracelet, a charm given by each of his allies, past or current, which includes but is not limited to: branzy, parrot, jaron, terrain, and ash. The thing from ash was a bit of iron from the boots he made for rek to try and give him flight, parrot is the diamond, etc;

Rek also keeps at least two invisibility potions on him at all times, just in case(he totally doesn't drink some as soon as he hears anything that might tip him off, and keeps himself invisible until he forgets what he looks like)
