GOP Seizes Control Of US House

In state and local races, GOP candidates also prevailed: Kasich beats Strickland for Ohio Governor, Stivers over Kilroy in Ohio's 15th District, Tiberi over Brooks in the 12th, Gibbs over Space in the 18th. 

In other ballot issues, the Columbus City Council can now meet behind closed doors, and the much watch Columbus Library Issue 4 has passed.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is making a last ditch effort to survive a GOP wave by blanketing the airwaves in more than 60 districts in the final week of the campaign. 3 Ohio Districts are among the ad buys, but Mary Jo Kilroy (OH 15) is not among them.

Democratic Campaign Committee Focuses on Space, Excludes Kilroy

As it gets closer to the election candidates and campaign committees are making all efforts to get their positions across to voters. WOSU reports the National Democratic Campaign this week focusing on one Congressional candidate at the expense of another fellow democrat.

Columbus On The Record Election Specials

WOSU Public Media and The Columbus Metropolitan Club are hosting a series of conversations with candidates in Ohio's 12th, 15th and 18th congressional districts.

The conversations will take place over the next three weeks and will be broadcast live on WOSU's weekly public affairs television program Columbus On The Record.

The election specials will begin at 8:50 p.m. at WOSU@COSI and will be moderated by Columbus On The Record host Mike Thompson.

October 15 - 15th Congressional District candidates Mary Jo Kilroy and Steve Stivers

October 22 - 18th Congressional District candidates Zack Space and Bob Gibbs

October 29 - 12th Congressional District candidates Pat Tiberi and Paula Brooks

All of the events are open to the public, but you must register to attend on the Columbus Metropolitan Club website.
