✜ for a fear headcanon
Hari used to be afraid of thunder and loud noises as a small child. Rain never bothered him, and lighting strikes are something he always found to be dangerously beautiful - but thunder? Hari wasn’t fond of it.
It reminded him of the caretaker, of the kids at the shelter that used to beat him. It reminded him of the things they did to Kai, too, the beating, bullying and mocking. He had much reason to be afraid of it. Curiously, it was Kai who helped him to lose this fear too, as he got the habit to sleep next to Hari during stormy nights. When Hari got scared, Kai was there to soothe him with kind eyes that only he remembers now, held his hand tightly to ground him, sometimes even hugged him.
Hari isn’t afraid of thunder anymore, but whenever he hears it he remembers the nights at the shelter, the silent reassurance that Kai gave him back then.
is my life a fucking joke to you people

Kai used to leave little gifts to his big brother, his own appreciation for everything his sibling has ever done for him. When they were children, it used to be colorful rocks or things he could find in the street. Now that they are older and with more resources, it’s bigger gifts that he leaves in the doorstep of his brother’s room.
He never told him who was leaving the gifts, because he didn’t think he needed to.
