apart from how their lifecycle works, do you have any other flora colossus headcanons/theories?
I am very out-of-touch on Marvel established lore so I'm not sure what is and isn't canon or not (as much as comics has solid canon lmao) but one I've been mulling on is flora colossi having a 'sister' race similar to dryads/nymphs in human mythos, who they either lost contact with, wiped out entirely themselves (accident or otherwise), or having simply just gone extinct on their own. But on discovering Earth and humans, began kidnapping them and experimenting to try and recreate the 'dryads' for whatever reason (labor? reproduction? just to see if they could?) Plant/Earth elemental type creatures aren't used often enough in a lot of media imo, MUCH more rarely are they considered evil (as the flora colossi are often portrayed as, with Groot as the sole outlier) so I need more time to give them some more earnest thought that would do them justice. ONE thing I want to emphasize with my own personal canon (in selfship stuff and otherwise) is that despite Groot being the heir apparent to the Tahlunian Empire but wanting NONE of it b/c of his peoples cruelty that he has little hope of changing, when his home was destroyed and he was left as the last of his kind, he still finds himself missing his old home and family sometimes. To have it torn away from him before he was ready to leave it all behind himself leads to conflicting feelings on hating what they stood for and what they represented, but still missing the 'halcyon' days of his youth when he didn't quite know any better but he was safe and happy.
