I'm going to go on a rant here. A rant about things that piss me off at homestuck shoots. And I'm on mobile so no page break. Whenever I have any hand in a photoshoot I plan on helping run, we always take time to talk about consent. What it is. How it works. Who can consent. All the fun stuff adults like to impose on children for the sake of their safety. Because I know the homestuck Fandom has a problem with consent, historically. That's why I do the cosplay is not consent speil. And why I expand it to explain consent is not a one time admission. That if at any point you aren't comfortable with doing something, even after previously saying you were okay, you have the right to say no. To say you're no longer comfortable with something. I've had young homestucks, literal children, tell me they had people pressure them to go up during a shoot they didn't feel comfortable going up for. That is not okay. I hate that this sort of behaviour is still prevalent. I've heard people yell out during ships things like “grab their butt!” and “kiss them!” and honestly that is far from okay, because you're pressuring people you may not know, who may be minors, into doing things for your pleasure. And I cannot stress. How much. That shit pisses me off. At my shoots I request that people keep it pg 13, and that no one under 18 is allowed to consent, for their own safety. And then the amount of harassment and petty drama I hear about and see involving homestucks is just staggering. I always remind the shoot attendees that if they're being harassed to come let me or another shoot host know. I've even gotten to telling people to do so even when I'm not the host or affiliated with them in any way. Because the host doesn't always tell people to report harassment! It is very apparent to me that the Fandom is getting an widening age gap, and there are adults who are exploiting this in their own way. And I am very very not okay with this. I'm going to start being critical of any photoshoot that's run for homestuck now. If they aren't covering the basics of consent and harassment, I'm going to be upset and let them know. And I'm going to start right now with colossalcon. Where I arrived late, yes. But I heard no reiterating about cosplay not being consent before ships started, and had heard from people there was barely any mention before the shoot started. I didn't pay much attention due to personal issues, but I heard from others there was an amount of harassment and coercion going on during ships. And there was also the mess left after the shoot, but I won't get into the that rn. So basically this: if you see me as a ball of seething rage after a homestuck shoot, chances are the host didn't do something to my liking involving consent or harassment. Two things I feel are very important to talk about at shoots. Especially with the large amount of impressionable children in this Fandom. End rant.

Homestuck Panel for Colossalcon!

So @citiesalight​ and I are planning on hosting an 18+ Homestuck panel for Colossalcon 2016 and we wanna get our casting done as soon as possible. If you were casted in the Ohayocon panel, you get priority for the character you were casted as; but you must let us know if you are still interested or not, otherwise we will have to give your role away.

RULES: IF YOU DON’T FUCKING READ THESE DON’T BOTHER ASKING QUESTIONS, ASSWIPE. --- 1. YOU MUST BE 18 OR OLDER. This is an 18+ panel and that isn't going to change, so only apply if you'll be 18 by the Wednesday (6/01) before the con. If not, sorry, we can't make exceptions.

2. LISTEN TO THE HOSTS. Karkat and Dave are the hosts for this panel. We will make fair judgements and you need to respect us.

3. NO DRAMA OR FIGHTING. In character, sure, whatever. If you cause drama amongst the cast, we will be forced to replace you. So, don’t do it.

4. YOU MAY AUDITION FOR AS MANY CHARACTERS AS YOU WANT. Obviously, you can only be casted as one but, aside from that, go crazy.

5. YOU NEED TO HAVE A MEANS OF CONTACT. We have to be able to interview you and get in contact with you easily. I know not everyone is comfortable giving out their phone numbers and such, which is why we ask for things like Skype, Tumblr, Instagram, email, etc...

6. BE IN CHARACTER. Try to be as in character as possible. We know that can be difficult, especially because of improv, but don’t worry. You’ll be able to practice with us over skype if you so wish.

7. HAVE A RECOGNIZABLE CANON CHARACTER. Please try to have the outfits as close to canon as possible. Gray and horns are required for trolls.

8. COMMUNICATE. Depending on the type of panel, we may need a basic script so please plan out some things you'd want to do, or interactions you'd like to have. If you have problems with someone then please let the hosts know so we can try our best to resolve it. We want everyone to be as happy as possible. If someone is making you uncomfortable or is treating you rudely, please let us know and we will handle it. Your identity won’t be shared.

9. YOU NEED TO HAVE A GOVERNMENT ISSUED I.D. TO GET IT. Sorry, we didn’t make that rule; it's required by the con.

10. DON’T AUDITION IF YOU DON'T PLAN ON GOING TO COLOSSALCON. Easy enough to understand, right? If you’re not planning on going, why audition for a panel at the con?

What-A Homestuck meetup to raise cans for St. Stephens community house

Hello friends! I've decided to host a homestuck meetup at Hoff Woods Park on Sunday Novermber 22 from 11:30-5 to collect cans for St. Stephens community house. The idea is that everyone brings in a few cans to donate and we can proceed to have funtime happenings! Feel free to come in cosplay!

Also a ride from around the east side of indianapolis, but I could find other arrangements if necessary I can pay an equal share of gas and hotel fees, and can drive if needed.
