Posted @withregram • @galerie_michelrein Dora Garcia in Oh les beaux jours (Happy Days) - Mad Marginal Charts (3), 2019 I always tell the truth pencil on paper, wooden frame, plexiglas work : 70 x 100 (27.56 x 39.37 in.) frame : 72 x 102 x 3,5 cm (28.3 x 40.1 x 1.4 in.) signed and dated on the back unique artwork - The series Mad Marginal Charts arose from a conversation between Dora García and the curator Guillaume Désanges concerning the latter’s invitation to collaborate in a presentation, Curated Session #1: The Dora García Files, at the Perez Art Museum Miami in 2014.The premise was that García should explain the complex «investigation» that had given rise to the four books of Mad Marginal between 2010 and 2014.For the presentation, Garcia prepared a set of patterns, annotations, and drawings that she accompanied with live explanations. As she read and developed her thesis, she began to add new annotations. She then started to transfer her notes directly from the page to the wall.
