BEST CARL SAGAN DAY MOMENT:
I work in a call center. Every day I sit at my favorite little cubicle, and every day one of my coworkers, Chuck, sits next to me. He is like 70 years old, I swear, and he is the typical cranky old republican guy. Very particular about this, that, and everything. Very right-wing political. Today I was reading Carl Sagan's famous 'Cosmos' and I catch him out of the corner of my eye glancing over to see what I was reading.
I see him smile, pause for a moment of inward reflection, and say (under his breath) "We are made of star stuff."
I beamed with pride and happiness!!! Everyone knows Cosmos- it's the best thing to ever happen to science, to education, to society, and to the universe.
