How to convert CAP patterns into 100% working package files
(tutorial originally by @ohmysims, I just copied it, put the screenshots back, and wrote it without the “keep reading” cutaway that’s in every reblog I found. Click on images to enlarge them. See my notes at the end. Wayback Machine backup)
-------------------
Thanks to this god-blessed tutorial, I’ve been able to convert some patterns made with CAP into 100% working package files. And I thought I should keep a record of the process here for future reference. I only rewrote the exact same tutorial with pictures and this tut is really simple.
I. Convert a pattern made with Create-a-Pattern tool into package format. (Read this tutorial if you don’t know how to convert.)
II. GIVE THE PATTERN A NEW RESOURCE NAME
The cause of the notorious Materializing Materials error is that ALL the patterns made with CAP has the SAME instance value (*). So, the solution is to give each pattern a unique instance value.
Open the file with S3PE. Double click on the _IMG tags with instance of 7edd20633162e6ce.
Click [Use resource name]
Write down any unique name
Click FNV64 button. It will regenerate new instance value.
The instance has changed to 0xAEE5CFA2DED89772. Copy the value except for the first two letters (0x).
III. EDIT XML TO HAVE THE NEW RESOURCE NAME
Right-click the _XML that has the type 0x0333406C and select [Notepad] so you can edit the xml file.
Replace 7edd20633162e6ce with the value you copied in Step II-5. In this case it is AEE5CFA2DED89772.
Save the XML file and close the notepad.
Select YES to commit change AND SAVE.

Notes by @sweetdevil-sims:
This tutorial applies to patterns that were converted from .sims3pack to .package format.
(*) this is NOT the reason for the Materializing Materials error. The issue described and fixed by @ohmysims. manifests as multiple patterns being replaced by the image of a single pattern. The MM error is caused by an extra space where there shouldn’t be one. For more info, check these resources:
MTS thread with several ways to fix the MM error
Tumblr post with a tutorial for fixing the MM error
The fix for the “Materializing Materials” error is independent of the one for the Create-a-Pattern conflicting resources error (which is described in the tutorial above).
did anyone else realize the ohmysims blog got deleted? they were my favorite simmer and even though they hadn’t posted in years, i always went back to their blog to read their legacy. im so sad :(

Bowling Night, part II
Previously
After too many beers and soaking with fat food our group wanted to go back to.......bowling. It wasn’t the best idea :D Remember kids - too much booze won't increase your bowling skills.
Some late replies and an update!

Eeee I'm so excited for you! I hope the moving process is as stress free as possible. I got the major heebies just moving 3 miles never mind to another continent
I will not lie - this has been THE MOST stressful move I’ve ever made lmao uuuuggggh and I konw a lot of it could have been made easier if I hadn’t procrastinated but. Ugh it was just SUCH a daunting task! Trying to sort what was going was a NIGHTMARE and trying to figure out how to pack 2 months of necessities into 5 suitcases was DREADFUL (also the movers would not move my nail polish??? so??? I have to slip that into my luggage somehow - which involves reducing cos i’m at 200+ LMAO)
That said - I’M RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED!!!!!

Woowww huge change! That's so exciting though, hoping for the best move possible for you and your husband! I really hope you guys settle in quick and enjoy Korea.
It’s SO huge! There’s been a lot of ups and downs (originally we were supposed to be in the Seoul area but have been relocated and it took FOREVER for me to make peace with it) but I’ve always wanted to visit Korea, so the opportunity to LIVE there. GUH!

How cool! Good luck!
Thank you both!!! I’ve really needed luck to get through so much of this lmao what a PROCESS it’s been!
So I’m officially on the eve of my move!!!!!!! I feel like everything just sort of snuck up on me and ngl this past month has felt like 3. My stress and anxiety got so bad there were a lot of sleepless nights and real, actual stress gagging? I never want to clean a house for move out inspection ever again in my life. We’re currently staying at a friends house til we fly out and I’m still shifting things around in our luggage LMAOOOOO
Thank you to everyone who has had a nice message to say about this move! It’s been so hellaciously stressful, but I’m SOOOOOOO excited!
I’ve been messaging with this adorable lady who runs a secondhand bookstore and does Korean lessons on Thursday and Friday mornings and I can’t wait for them! I’ve spent many years trying to learn Korean myself, but my dedication is severely lacking, so my foundation is RIDICULOUSLY weak, but I feel like actual weekly classes will really help cement things. There’s also a group of ladies who get together on I think Wednesdays? for a Korean-English language exchange in a coffee shop. I’m really so scared about how bad I am at Korean (which is... silly cos duh that’s the point of learning languages. I hate making mistakes even tho THAT’S LITERALLY HOW YOU LEARN) and also I’m SO SCARED MEETING NEW PEOPLE but I’m gonna face all my fears and DO IT.
I don’t think I’ve ever written about it much but living in Texas has been really rough for me. I don’t drive, so getting around has been impossible and I’ve just generally felt really trapped and stranded and its made my depression even worse. Pyeongtaek and public transportation, though, means I’ll be able to go out when and where I want and GOSH I’m ready to feel alive again!
ALSO!!!!!! I GET TO SEE ONE OF MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE GROUPS, 2PM, IN CONCERT!!!!!!!!!
anyway i wanted to let you guys know I’m still alive and Monday morning I’m gonna be flying into Korea *_________*
