I can’t believe I am about to say this, but I am enjoying a modern cdrama - Lover or Stranger. Just finished first ep and plan to watch more asap.

In part because I adore Victoria Song and always will, in part because Oho Ou looks like he eats and could lift me without breaking his back (I am a petite woman but I think that would be a feat beyond some of the actors I’ve seen), but in large part because it has the dark, unsettling makjang vibe most modern cdramas I come across (that tend to go for fluffy and wholesome) lack.

Our heroine, played by Victoria, survives an avalanche but needs plastic surgery to fix her face and she has amnesia. Lucky her, despite that she gets to go home to her doting and loaded fiance (played by OO.) Or does she? He gives a SERIOUSLY creepy vibe and there is clearly something off there. I am loving it.

hello today's breaking news is that (apparently) lover and stranger is airing on iqiyi, starting from the 12th of July !!! it's not 100% confirmed because there is no airing date on the official website, however various accounts have stated that, if not on the 12th, at least the drama is VERY close to airing.

and honestly I'm screaming !!! screaming because: a) I like song qian, especially her voice b) thank god at least one of her dramas is airing, istg this girl keeps filming dramas but they either end up in the dungeon or it takes them an eternity to air 💀 c) the plot seems to be interesting, I love mysteries/thrillers and weird ass stories. this seems to be so for me.

but also .... the drama looks like it's a little low on budget ??? I can only hope it doesn't affect the storyline 💔
