Soulmates Au Law/Luffy/Coby

*rubs hands together CACKLING*

So, with the the reveal of both Coby and Law at Rocky Port my poor heart had canon interaction between two and this sort of came from that. And poly for two of my favorite ships, yes please I’m not sorry.

Prepare yourself @ohshanksno I have quite a bit.

Part 1/????

Soul Marks only appearing once you’ve met your soulmate. You can have multiple soul marks, black and white meaning platonic love and colored meaning romantic love.

They can have different shapes but flowers are common.

I actually don’t know exactly what their marks would be, never thought up an answer that satisfied me.

Luffy already several before he meets Coby. He has a mark for Ace and Sabo, Makino, Garp and even Shanks. 

They are small but still there and he is proud of each one.

Luffy is Coby’s first Soul Mark after his parents. He’s so happy with it, it doesn’t feels odd to him that it’s only monotone when Luffy feels like his whole world.

His feelings haven’t changed when the two meet up again at Water 7, Coby showing off two new platonic marks much to the embarrassment of Helmeppo and laughter of Garp. 

Luffy explains each of his marks off and is proud that each of his crew members share a place on his skin.

Still no color but he was loved enough as is.

But it changes when Luffy meets Law in Sabody. Neither would notice at first, one too busy running from the Marines and the other in sheer panic over the loss of his crew.

Luffy, while bathing with the Kuja warriors is surprised when they start asking about his lover. He remains confused until they point to a place and he stares. 

That wasn’t colored in before.

Coby’s mark, which Robin had said to be strange, was colored. It was a vibrant mix of red, yellow and pink.

Luffy would have liked to figure out what the change meant, but with the news of Ace’s execution hitting his ears, those questions would have to come later.

But as much as Luffy can put those thought aside, Law discovered the new addition with horror. He had met many new people that day, but Straw Hat-ya was the face his mind would not let go. 

This new black and white mark must be caused because of him.

It’s not because of his soul mark that he orders his crew to Marineford, not because his heart beats faster as he see each body go down on the screen. But Straw Hat is interesting and it would be a shame if he didn’t survive this.

Nothing can change Marineford. Ace dies, his skin littered with ink and marks, showing how clearly he was loved.

Law saves Luffy but does not see the pink haired Marine who stands tall in the face of Akainu.

As Law rushes to save Luffy, his hand pauses over their shared mark, more confused than ever. 

He was a doctor and everyone in the medical field had at one point or another been interesting in soulmates and marks. But he had never come across accounts of one with color and the other without.

Law has to ignore his growing curiosity in favor of actually saving Luffy’s life.

He leaves before Luffy can thank him, leaves before the other can find out they now match.

Leaves before Luffy can say the mark isn’t just from Law.

The last place Law expected to figure out his soul mark questions was during his attack on Rocky Port. It had all gone according to plan til the Marines showed up and in particular this one with pink hair? He spent most of his time helping civilians, fighting only when there were in danger til Law blocked their escape.

They fight because of course they would and destroy more than the original attack cause of course they do. Law can’t seem to shift his focus back on task and this lone Marine steals his attention like a master thief.

The incident is a success, Law escaping without major injury. But the Pink Marine sticks in him mind just as infuriatingly much as Straw Hat, he grumbles in frustration taking of his shirt, what kind of idiot has hair lik-

Law hisses, realizing the problem. Color. There’s color now.

Luffy:how i feel about this characterSUNSHINE GOBLIN LIGHT OF MY LIFE i really really really enjoy how different luffys morality is from a lot of other shonen protags in that hes inherently selfish as hell. He is kind, he’s amazingly intuitive and emotionally intelligent, and he’s become more aware through the series but ultimately he does good because its what he wants to do and because he has usually laid personal claim to those in trouble. you dont fuck with whats his, because they are his, not because of a higher calling. i just love him

all the people i ship romantically with this characteri hc Luffy on the aro spectrum, he doesn’t really feel exactly what most would describe as romantic attraction and he doesn’t feel it frequently. closest are- Zoro: wEAK FOR FIRST MATE/CAPTAIN AAAA THERYE JUST 2 BASTARDS…. - Law: theyre just so fuckin funny n stubborn what can i say - Sanji is a weird middle ground just. soft. real soft man

my non-romantic otp for this character- just like. everyone he’s ever befriended lamo - his brothers ofc give me Ace n Sabo doting on him and or them all bullying eachother every day- I LOVE his relationship w Usopp and Nami theyre just. wonderful ugh- Let Marco Adopt him because I Demand It

my unpopular opinion about this character- manlet king– his power moves r wack to look at. don’t like em frequently 

one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon- give him. captain coat. oda. ____________________Sanji:how i feel about this characterpiece of shit– man i wish i didn’t have to flinch liking him, ive just totally detached from canon lamo. no but he’s a character driven genuinely by love and by caring for others needs at all levels. his whole thing is bein the mom friend, self sacrifice, and actually being pretty emotionally vulnerable when not getting defensive about it, which is compelling as fuck– i really wish that was focused on rather than the womanizing n white knighting jokes. also hes a fuckin dramatic idiot i love h im m m esp watching older movies n epsall the people i ship romantically with this character- Ace ace ace ace can i say it again? my non-romantic otp for this character- Thatch have y’all considered Thatch adopting tf outta him because I HAVEEEE - *shakes fist at sky* FUCK i want sanji + nami and sanji + robin genuine relationships, esp with Robin- all the strawhatsmy unpopular opinion about this character- i want his backstories to be utilized more. Obviously there’s only so much that can be subtly included n thats what fanfic/headcanons are for BUT bitch has been through some trauma- stinky trash manone thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon- wow can’t believe we got that 3 chapter AceSan spinoff in the middle of alabasta that was so cute - please bring back him being an actual gentleman thank u

Idea for a storyMost of my stories about Mako are him having a mild break down and needing some good old comfort. That boy has been through some shit and, like, repressed all of it. They never let him cry ONCE and it’s a crime. (Team: get Mako some THERAPY: 2020)

Unpopular opinionIs it unpopular to hate he’s a cop? I don’t actually know.I just feel … like … it was a weird choice that he was suddenly a cop for no reason???  I do know … Aro!Mako is a shiny I’ve never been able to find and that’s a shame.

Favorite relationshipSo I mostly love Aro!Mako, as said ……… But I do kind of ship him with an oc and I’m like … how the fuck did this even happen?? I  never cared about OC/Canon ships before and I went and created one. Worst thing I ever did ‘cause there is no content, I have to fucking make it myself.

I realized that doesn’t just mean romantic 

His relationship with Bolin is my favorite. He loves his brother so much and just want’s him to be happy. And he wants to protect Bolin, which can be problematic because part of how he does it is to try the control the situation as much as possible which includes his brother a bit. But at the same time he knows that Bolin is actually very capable and through there is only a few instance of it, he’s good at praising and encouraging his little brother. 

Favorite headcanonHe’s kind of a bad cop, especially in the beginning. Not that he’s incapable and incompetent but boy’s been a little criminal for a good couple years as a kid/teen. He’s not above bending the rules a little and letting a few things slide. (Like I know they’re basically same thing but Mako does much better as a detective. He’s much more compliant with solving whatever “mystery” that’s put in front of him.)

Idea for a storyTechnically not so much Lin centric but she plays a big part in my “Kuvira Wins AU”. She’s basically like “not my city you bitch” and does everything she can to be a real inconvenient ass while also trying to keep her people alive and okay.

Unpopular OpinionI don’t actually think I have one for her … I’m mean fuck cops but she honestly fits the job.

Favorite RelationshipI love the idea of Lin taking Mako under her wing. I say MomBoss and DetectiveSon but she’s definitely not a mother in any sense. She does care for him though. Maybe a little bit more than her other “employees” not that she shows him the slightest bit of favoritism. In fact she’s harder on him because she likes him. Lin’s a complicated lady. 

I do love her relationship with her sister. It’s such a fucking mess and mottled with so much hurt and bitterness. And yet they’re at least making an attempt to get to know each other, to be a family they never really could be as teens/young adults.

Favorite HeadcanonLin’s … not actually a great person. So lawful good that it’s problematic sort of bad. There are a few instances where she’s go out of the law if things are really screwy and bad (like when her metal benders were captured by Amon, thought, let’s be real, her “outside the law” hardly counts). But most of the time she follows the rules of the law to a ‘T’ and sometimes that means even the laws that are meant to aid no one else but the wealthy people who implemented them and over looking things that she “can’t” do anything about.

Were I in the OP fandom still I would be doing my best to try and flood the Rouge tag with Rouge/Bell-mere.

Like, fierce mama duo who would do anything to protect their kids? They got this mutual attraction, see how much the love their kids, cue flirty eyes. 

But then one is an ex-marine and the other is a pirate? Instant friction. Bell-mere is more chill about it. In this au Rouge helped her and her daughters so even though she’s a pirate, Rouge obviously isn’t terrible. 

Rouge has a much harder time. Marines chopped her baby daddy’s head off. Marines killed an untold number of women and children searching for her. Marine would kill her and her son in a heartbeat, no questions, no chances. Bell-mere is ex-marine and Rouge just can’t understand how even an ex has an ounce of anything respectable in there. 

But she sees Bell-mere with her daughters and sees how she treats Rouge’s children. Sees how she’s trying to be the best mother she can despite her troubles and it really softens Rouge. It’s something she relates to, can completely understand. 

Like, Vin listen… I want so much content for this ship. How is it I have to do it myself? Why can’t it all just magically appear????
